Colleges and universities should offer more courses to prepare students for the future before they start working. Agree or disagree?

Many young people have the options to enter the college or universities to pursuit the degree, because higher education backgrounds garuantees higher salaries, more options and more suitable career. I totally agree that the colleges and universities should offer more job-oriented course for the student.

First of all, students should learn what they want as they enter the colleges and universities to study. As most of them hope to build a more brilliant career future with this diploma, the job-required skills is supposed included in the syllabus. For example, a C.S. student who wishes to learn the state-of-the-art computer skill, such as new software, hardware and programming languages, is not supposed to spend too much time in studying difficult algorithm, which is the theories of the programming and math.

Additional, the job-oriented course could shapes good habit in study, which apply the theories which they learn from the book to the real world, and the working experience makes the knowledge deeper and more comprehensive. For these reasons, the university should offer more practice course to enhance the student’s practical skills. The accounting-majored students learn to deal with the companies’ annul profit report and make the analyze for them; the finance-majored students are supposed to learn to make price for the product and value the investment of the real companies. These practice courses will minus the gaps between the on-book knowledge and the current society requirement, and this kind of experience makes crucial contribute to not only the on-campus study, but also strengthen their resume for their future job-seeking.

It is kind of hard time for the students when they just graduate from the universities or college. They could not adjust to the independent living environment, and they need to spend time to rewrite the resume and prepare for the interviews, and then they need to cope with the relationships between co-workers and supervisors and manage their own salaries. Obviously, these stuff course huge pressure on them, and the sad new is not all of them have learn how to deal with those. Therefore, I think the college and the universities should adjust their education goal a little bit according to the current society trend and the competitive job market.

Finally, it is beneficial for the students even if the student don’t plan to work immediately after they get the undergraduate degree if the college and the universities could offer the course related to the future job, because the basic skill is required in daily life. For example, some training course, the students will learn to control the negative emotions, which is important during working in the company, but it is also a perfect complement of the admirable personality. Even if you choose to pursuit higher degree after you graduate, you still need a positive mind to the difficulties you face during the research. Whether working or doing research, the more pressures you bearing are the same. High-level research even more difficult than work, you need to deal with the thousands of failiar and depress and hopeless come with that. Therefore, taking some psychological training course is good for the all students.
