Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: It is better for your friend to ask you for help (suppose you are good at the subject) than to turn to a tutor when he finds it hard to pass an examination. A Friend is someone who can always give you a hand whenever you come across with problems. As warm-hearted as I am, I would wholeheartedly assist my friend with his confusion in studying, especially for a particular course that I am good at. However, when it comes to whether it is a better choice for him to come to me for help, there are more elements that should be taken into consideration. On one hand, there is something referring to the quality of teaching that has to be balanced. I can hardly promise that I am more suitable. That is because, as professional as the tutors are, they may have more experiences in teaching, far more than I have. So, they are more qualified for teaching. Take accounting as an example. Even if I try my best, I can only solve problems relying on books and lead him to make out theoretical solutions. Whereas a tutor who has worked in the field of accounting for years can come up with some practical knowledge, may be useful for him to a greater extent. On the other hand, although it seems that there are numerous advantages toward my friends if he chooses a tutor, every coin has two sides. And to be honest, there are still some obvious disadvantages when asking a tutor for help. Turning to a tutor will inevitably costs more tuition fees, which definitely has no benefits for him to relieve his pocket. By no means will I charge my friends for money. Therefore,it may be a more economical and feasible choice for him to ask me for help. In the meantime, according to the relationship between us, I will inescapable put more heart into helping him pass the examination. I can say confidently that I am a more responsible teacher than most of the tutors. In a nutshell, I do think that both of the methods have their own merits and demerits. If my friend is lucky enough to seek out a diligent and serious tutor with low pay, admittedly, it is wiser for him to turn to the tutor. |
