In the past few centuries, human has made many great achievements（in technology）, such as the satellites, planes and Internet. And I believe, in the future there will be more outstanding inventions that can dramatically improve our life. Recently, some people assert that the most important problems in today’s world will be solved in our life time. However, from my perspective, the assertion is unconvincing. Admittedly, the science and technology have solved a lot of problems and brought much convenience. It is effortless for us to think some inventions that improved our daily life. For example, with the development of navigation system, people will never suffer from losing their ways. And the advent of personal computers emancipated us from large amount of paper material. We can store the overwhelming information in a small laptop. Obviously, things become easy with the advance of science and technology. However, we cannot get the conclusion that the most important way in today’s world will be solved in our time, because people have different opinions on what is the most important problems. It is easy to understand that , due to their careers, ideology and educational levels, people have different answers to the same question, especially the question that what is the most important problem. For example, my brother is a surgery in a big hospital. He always thinks that the most important problem nowadays is that there are still many fatal diseases that we cannot cure. While one of my friends , Wanglong , who majors in civil engineering in Tongji University, thinks the most important problem is that there is no an advanced building in which people can live, shop, work and entertain. He always wants to design a building like that. So different people will have quite various ideas about the most important problems, some of which are apparently cannot be solved in a short time. What’s more, we have to confront the reality that even today, there are a large number of people still suffer from the lack of food, water and medical care. The development of the world is not in a balance way, and there are developed countries and underdeveloped countries. In some poor areas, people still cannot satisfy their physical needs. According to an authoritative survey, in 2009 there are still about 1 billion people are straggle for food这句话双谓语了 straggle在这是什么意思呢 我查了一下是蔓延的意思. That is an amazing and huge figure! I don’t think in our life time, such an overwhelming number of people can greatly improve their living standard. In sum, although we confess that the technology has solved a lot of problems, we should arbitrarily conclude the most important problem will be solved in our life time.
