Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important characteristic for politics is to accept responsibility for mistake. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Do you agree or disagree?

Although politics should accept responsibility for mistakes, it is not the most important job for politics. Politics should work for the benefit of nation and human being.
Politics usually made or influenced by people. Without double, people make mistakes all the time. Therefore, one of the characteristics of politics is accepting mistakes. For example, the president Clinton, who contributed greatly for the economic boost of US in 1900s, involved in the fair and lied to world. And then the great politician has to accept the responsibility for his wrongful behavior.
But other characteristics for politics are also significant. Accepting and correcting the fault is one aspect, while persisting in the right thing is other aspect. The topics of protecting environment, investing in education, and reducing the gap between wealth and poor are the goals for politics too. Usually government devotes numerous efforts into these areas which could be proved by the huge amount of investment or expense of these areas in each country.
Furthermore, judgment of whether a decision in politics is fallacious or not would be obscure.  The most idol model to illustrate this point is the private gun holding policy. Obviously, the law in favor of individual right of holding a gun presents the respect and understanding of human right. Oppositely, allowing individuals own a gun will increase the probably and risk of insolent people died due to gun shoot. Recently, the cinema murders at the first show night of batman arouse a more intensive discussion about whether or not the government should allow individual hold his or her private gun. Also, the homosexual behaviors and limit age for young people to drink are heat and comprehensive issues .Due to the difficulty in judging the rightness on some politics problem, the conclusion that accept the result of fault decision becomes vague.
All in all, politics has its special characteristics as a discipline, but it is hard to get the conclusion that it has one of the most important properties.
