今天在版上看到好多说独立写作要好好举例子，于是尝试了新结构，其实也是这个题目实在不知道怎么写，求点评，谢谢！

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement although science and technology will continue to improve, the most significant improvement for the quality of people's lives have already taken place.

With the high-paced development of science and technology, new inventions and high efficient tools have dramatically changed people's lives. Despite that our lives have improved a lot, I disagree with the statement that the most significant improvements have already happened, for there are still a great deal of obstacles for us to overcome on the way ahead. And the solution definitely calls for more advanced science and technology.

Admittedly, science and technology contributes a lot to today's convenient and productive life. For example, thanks to the application of new machines, factories doubled their profits during the past few years; because of new medicine and effective treatment, more patients get rid of horrible diseases. Significant as these improvements seem to be, there is still great space for more elevation of our lives. On the one hand, human's creativities have not exhausted, and we should believe in ourselves for exploring more of the world. On the other hand, the world is facing more challenges than before, such as environmental problems, population and so on, thus, more improvements are expected.

For example, considering the increasing profit brought about by new machines in factories, however, sometimes these machines leave much worse environmental problems, which are more difficult to handle. From my working experience in factory, some machines do not have water-purifying system, which leads to dirty waste water pulled into rivers. What’s more, even polluted gas is discharged into the air. Obviously the improvement of factories is sometimes on the expense of devastating environment. The problem of how to balance environment and industry should be cast light on. And this area absolutely requires more efforts on science and technology, such as new machines with purifying system, and other efficient facilities which are environmentally friendly. Therefore, it is never to say the most improvement because problems always exist, which are sometimes even caused by the improvements by far.

Another consideration is about medical improvements. Health care undoubtedly has developed, but is there not any flaw left? Take me as an example. I had a headache last month. After I took the medicine given by the doctor, I recovered in only three days. But what bothered me is that during those three days, I experienced a suffering time of lacking desires to eat anything, which was caused by side effects of the medicine I took. In spite of the improvements of medicine for these years, the problems of side effects sill need more attention to be paid. More significant improvements are expected to eliminate these undesirable effects by science and technology. In addition, some extremely fatal diseases, such as cancer and AIDS, are still bothering the world in this day and age, which calls for more breakthroughs. Thus, time for the most significant improvement still doesn’t come.

All in all, although some improvements already took place, more efforts and innovations are needed for a healthier and more efficient life. These improvements are far less than the most significant, because there is always a better world waiting for us to explore and take advantage of.
