Language,broadly defined as the tools of peopel's communication,has come into being various forms in different parts of the world in the past thousands of years. They preservered and transmitted all of the nation's civilization and gloriousness,experienced the vicissitues and great changes of the society ,and finally ,got to today's high-tech world of globolization.Within the new situation ,people may find that numerous languages no longer mean the prosperity of human thought,but become a serious barrier of cross-cultural communication,which in turn impede the international commerce and trade.

As an indispensible segment of the existence and development of a race ,language is of significant meaning .Although basically it is just a media of mass communication,the long-term symbiosis of human and language has given it a special meaning,which is about power ,dignity and admission of the world.In other words ,if the language of a country has been widely accepted and spreaded all over the world ,the people of this nation will have a feel of pride and rejoicing.On the contrary ,however,the extinct of a distinct language would make its people depressed and even self-deprecated.The perspective that the goverments of countries in which lesser-known languages are spoken should act to prevent it from being extinct seems plausible in this way.

Nevertheless,what is the real meaning of the existence of a language ? undoutedly,serving better for the publicity of civilization and developing of the economy .In this era of persuing tight tempo and absolute efficiency,the gap of language has increasingly prevent the pace of the society procession.we can make a simple analogy ,that modern industry apply the line-working produce style ,so a single worker only need  to complete one programme, drive a screw for example,then they will be increasingly familliar to such work and naturally promote the efficiency .Different languages just like different programs.People translate one language to another will of course get down his or her efficiency ,and in my opinion,this is also a waste of time and effot.

The assimilation of language is actually an inevitable trend of the society development.The diminution of those which aren’t proper to act as the media of the global village communicationjust just proves this.Especially in today’s satellite communication,global mobilation and internet times,accordance becomes more and more imporant .Peole (contains I) spend many years to study a forein language just for listening to another world’s sound,then if we all use the same language ,then how convenient it will be.And the time we spend on studying language could be used to do some more rewarding things.

In sum,the competetion of language is just accord with the development of the world.It cannot be prevented simply by taking some so-called measures,and it is also pointless.If these countries would put the resources and efort which were expected to save its language to other more practical problems ,such as poverty ,disaster ,plague and so on,then it will be more wonderful.As for language ,it will finally been chosen by the society and history ,and been decided to live on or die out,should accept its own fate.
