问个关于句子的问题

做了不少题目，难句也看了几遍，每次读到这些句子就容易晕- -

后面的that culminated in the first women's rights conference held at Seneca Falls, New York, in 1948修饰的是前面哪个部分

People Bearden know as a child.
意思是1.当Bearden是个小孩的时候认识的人 2.Bearden认识此人的时候此人是个小孩。

意思应该是Bearden小时候认识的人

后面那句是36套上一个题目的选项

原题是 People Bearden knew as a child = people that Bearden know as a child。
应该是Bearden小时候认识的人。
People不能是a child...所以楼主第二个理解不通。
