The issue seems too extreme when asserting the effective occassion and means.(occasion?总觉得不好)Education should call for a balance between meeting the individual needs and interests of each student and social overall requirement.(连用两个and容易引起歧义,再有social overall requirement读着不顺)
First of all, education designed to meet individual(是不是改用名词所有格?) needs and interests will inspire students' activeness(这个词好像是活跃人物的意思) enormously. Only through internal appeal(这个appeal可否用在这里?) may one have impetus to learn and study consciously. And that will conduce to give rise to some crucial mental power favorable to education's goal, such as innovation, creativity(前面两个词是一个意思吧?), objectiveness and so forth.Just take me for example, I used to be tired of education(be tired of education?education教育这里好像不太好) at school, without any strong interest in my major. Even I hated such kind of life. However, when having contacted(应该加with。而且印象中这个词多表示物理接触和联络之意) economics, I was deeply attracted by it. So I feel my study has(似乎该是feel...do句型) turned out to be very active(study 可以说active吗?不如改成interesting) and my study goal has appeared very definitely. My efficency of study has raised from then on.
Further(more), to meet individual needs is,in fact,to provide enough freedom to students. They may have more opportunity(复数) to choose. Anyway, more choices always contribute to attain better consequences. Students can spot their favorite through touching and comparing different alternatives(through experiencing different ways.alternative是二选一的意思). Freedom is usually regarded as a kind of fundamental value of human society, which can be applied to education likewise.

However, students can not study absolutely on their mind,even at random,(好像不通) because everyone 's work should be recognized by society eventually. The work will be not meaningful---that is, no contribution to society development---if it can not win social recognition.Therefore, students have to develop practical attitude. In detail, they have to accept something in which they may not have interests(in) and needs(删掉and needs). Consider, for instance, mathematics. There may lie not a few student who dislike it . But, just as one of my teacher(复数) said, mathematics's signifance exists more in developing human logic and analytical ability,which will help people work more rationally and effectively, than merely in mathematics knowledge.
Meanwhile, society always requires a certain division of labor,so education must be arranged proportionally among all kinds of disciplines. Since every branch of society requires attendance of labor force, society will compulsively force someone to accept the education,which they do not like,however which conform to the reqiurement of division of labor.(这个长句写得不好) A case in point, there lie both some popular disciplines,such as finance, IT, engineering,etc, and some disciplines lacking appeal,such as phisics, history, philosophy,etc in China . Nevertheless, it is necessary that someone devote themselves to that appeal-lacking branch in spite of their(lacking) individual preference.
In sum, we should not only respect individual spirit but also consider society realistic comprehensive development(comprehensive and realistic development of society). Accordingly,the major problem of comtemporary education should be how to deal this balance.

这是一个选择题。要选出最佳方案并说明。我觉得重在比较。而你在文中只是说这样的一个banlance是好的,最后又跳到了problem上,我认为不妥。
