第二步，根据你的记忆，按照文章所给的内容，写出你能记忆的所有的东西，顺序写

第三步，写出中心论点，比如 Though China is making efforts to clean its air, it will be a long time before benefits are seen and problems will continue to arise.

第四步，根据记忆写每一个段落的作用，比如 Background information, current problem, elucidating ways to read information given, return to problem and potential short-term solution, problems for that as well. Conclusion no clear cut solution but changes are being made.

第五步，写出作者的观点，态度

Summary : W was once a slave but she has talent in English and writing. There are several discrepancies between the African tradition’s oral literature and the Western’s. W exemplifies the meeting of oral and written literary culture. The African oral art embodies in the folk songs, dancing, and drum. However, all of them was paid little attention by the written literatures and W failed to applied her African tradition to written but replaced by the conventional and prevailed tradition. However,  W is the first black american poet.
Pith:  Para1 introduces W’s background (the hero in this article), and pave the way to the discussion of her literature.     Para2 TS: the first sentence. Discussing the different characteristics of African American literary and indicate W’s potential to apply the idea of written literary to her oral literary language.       Para3 Ts, the first sentence.  A transition emerges here, which indicate W did not act as what the 2nd paragraph expected. W did not take her African heritage to compose her poem but to employ the neoclassical poetry rule. Reason for this is presented because the African poetry and canon was ruled out by the conventions.         Para4 TS, the last sentence. A final transition in this essay and points out W is the first blacks American poet.
Author’s attitude: positive attitude to W, applaud her accomplishment. However, also indicates her minor shortage.

Gist: this article primarily uses the example of cell biology and biochemistry to introduce what is antithesis disciplines and the possible positive influences they would bring about.
Para1 Introduces this article’s topic and outlines the main idea of this article.  TS: the last sentence, which is also the TS of this article. P2 takes the cell biology and biochemist as the example to clarify the concept of anti-thesis discipline. Several debates are presented here, first, regarding to the cell structure; then, for the Pxxx’s characters. TS: the first sentence. P3 summarizes the aspects of conflict between these two disciplines and point out the synthesis of these two disciplines is Mxxx. (TS, the last one.) P4 presents both of the original disciplines’ transformation and concludes that they work together and produces a new discipline, the molecular genetics.  TS, the last one. P2, p3 and p4 correspond to the p1’s point of view sentence by sentence.  P5 shows the advantage resulted from the interaction of the paried disciplines. TS the first sentence.

Gist: Before modern criminal procedure system’s establishment, there exists two types of previous system, one is A and another is I. A is only moves one step further than the private vengeance, and the judicial department does not involve into the investigation of the case, so all the evidences are exclusively provided by the defendant and prosecutor. The I system is said as two steps removed from the private vengeance, because it impartially considers the two sides of defendant and prosecutor and involves into the pretrial investigation.
P1 introduces discussion’s background and the two main objects in the discussion, A and I
P2 Focuses on A.  Compare the  A and the modern criminal procedure system.
P3 Focuses on I. Compare the  B and the modern criminal procedure system.
P4 the extensive description for I
P5 makes comparison between A and I directly.

4. Gist: This passage argues what should be the appropriate definition to profession.  The etymology of the word trade, profess, profession have been examined and physician, lawyer, and teacher are taken as the example to clarify the essence of profession is the moral stand, though the skill and specialized knowledge is also significant to the professional occupations.
P1 background introduction. Start the passage with the question for medicine and physician in our society and then put forward the core problem in this passage.
P2 concession paragraph. Knowledge and skill is important but they are not essential.
P3 concession paragraph. Honor and reputation is important as to professions, but conversely, it does not constitute profession, but profession endows honor.
P4 the gist lines in this last paragraph. Occupational moral.

Gist: This article reviews the music career of MD, and mainly tries to give explanation to why MD’s astonishing accomplishment fails to obtain the critics’ compliment. In light of chronological order, the author presents three times of MD’s transformation on his stylist of Jazz. In the late of 1940s, MD slow down tempos and featured ensemble playing. In 1950s, MD broke free from Jazz’s restrictive pattern of chord changes. 1960s, MD works in studio and let the musicians to play on a certain theme impromptu, and the author calls he works like a film director. Finally, the author concludes explicitly the reason why MD’s progresses are rejected by the critics.
P1 introduce MD and the critics’ attitude to his Jazz music. Article background introduction.  TS 1st
P2 The stylist of MD’s music in 1948 and its influences.
P3 MD’s innovations in 1950s.  TS the 1st one.
P4 the change happens in 1960s for MD’s jazz music. TS the first sentence.

得第二遍了，或者边写边回顾原文才行。

有写过的童鞋有这样的赶脚吗？ 支支招吧。

其实，可能还是暴露了第一遍读了掌握的信息太模糊

我做到ex8，一般5分钟左右读完，但没有用5步法回顾，map一下就去做题了。
练5步法的时候要用中文才写得出来

我一般看文章都是用PEAR的，起码要7分钟。。。然后再做题
刚开始一套4篇阅读做完 也要1hour左右。

也看到有其他人提到过用PEAR，究竟是什么。。。我都是晚上最后做这一项，所以时间多的时候我就做题，时间不多就不做题了。我的问题是第一遍看完写不出什么东西，得第二遍。还有我的感觉是，文章读懂了一篇文章的错率就会控制在1题或者2题，没读懂那就是哗哗哗的3个4个。所以读吧……

其实1个小时很快了吧，我不用五步法直接做LSAT rc 也是一个小时做完，o(╯□╰)o

PEAR 我觉得是对每一段做评估并推理下一段。 或者用首段来推测文章内容结构。
但好像很表面化，可能是思考的不够多。
题目一般要错一半， 而且大部分重新做也做不对，非要对照答案才能理解。
另外感觉5步应该包括寻找出题点的一步。
