Issue 1. “A nation should require its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college rather than allow schools in different part of the nation to determine which academic courses to offer.”

It is an era in which the world is experiencing dramatic changes both in technology and science, and it needs a great amount of people, who can adapt the change, to operate on every aspect of the society, so that it is urgent for educators to think what kind of education they should offer to the students, who are in turn to be the operators of the big machine. Education is of course important in college, but most of the educators put great effort on middle school students, and this induce a question that whether we should encourage the middle school students to study the same national curriculum or just remain the region government to decide what subjects should offer to them. In my opinion, as for the diversity of education and different culture, we should leave question to the region government to determine the curriculum for the students.

Firstly, although it is admitted that every student should take some necessary lessons and exams to assure that they are qualified to graduate from high school to have a higher education, it does not mean that every one of them should take the same course without regard to their different culture and backgrounds. As for a country with different regions, each of where has unique culture, policy and people, the government must take a consideration of keeping their own features and making them last forever. If the same curriculum were taken for some time, it is hardly to imagine how long would the character of the place will keep. High school is a very important and crucial period of a man to cultivate his own personality and moral so that educators must realize that every child has a chance to assure each an opportunity, not to be equal, but become different-to realize whatever unique potential of a body. I really do not think colleges would prefer 3000 freshmen with unique knowledge and interest, even they are professional on some subjects such as mathematics, literacy etc. The essence of the education is not to cultivate the same doctrine into children’s heart, that shape them into a stereotype, but to offer free soil and diverse fertilizer making them grow up prosperously. That is what our colorful world consists of, different people, different culture, and different nature.

Secondly, the most important and actual thing of education is the teaching progress, which is a liberal art, but not the content. It should aimed at training children to be able to handle whatever life may present including all the unknowns in the future, it should aimed at diverse methods to discover children’s nature, where there is really precious deposits waiting to be deplored, and it should aimed at the improvement of both children’s moral and faculties, but not merely academic courses. All of these merits cannot be reached by simplex materials and same courses. It is the shame for the college students exerting many efforts on their narrow academic region without caring about other subjects such as literary, history and art, which are very important points to make a creative leader in any fields. If such method is put into the middle school, I can not imagine what our children would turn to be.

Thirdly, although the nation should not require all of their students to learn the same courses, something are necessary for all the students in the nation to know and to make their own: honesty, fairness, self-discipline, fidelity to task, love of country, equality and freedom to practice one’s faith. Everything has a diverse expressive mode, but the essence of moral will always be in common. Whatever a man grows up, what job may he take, what life he may lead, if he is a righteous and honest man, he is successful to be an educated man.

We are now in a competing society that we should always change ourselves to catch up with the pace of time. It is improper for the educators to set the same courses to all the students in the country, because the different people consist of our society and world to make it beautiful and diverse But we must remember one thing, which is eternal and everlasting, is moral that can be taught all round the nation even the world.

我的第二个论点是要说明教育应该多元化，不应该指定一套教材给所有的学生以限制学生向不同的方向发展，说得是有点不清楚的，改之
