issue66: As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate.

In modern society, technology has developed to a high level. New technologies, such as computer, satellite, fax, are used widely in our life. As people rely more and more on technology to solve problem, the author opinionate that the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate. But will the ability really deteriorate? I don't think so.

First, technology is invented by humans. From long ago, humans devote their time and energy to inventing new technologies. The technologies imply the intelligence of humans. The technology tells us that the ability of humans to think for themselves is very strong.

Second, well use of technology need the ability to think for oneself. Each technology has its own functions and range of using. Different technology has different method to use. And one technology has different method to use when used in different condition or used to resolve different problems. We use computer as a simple example. As we know, computer has strong functions. But you can not use it to resolve all problems. You must use your own brain to judge what problems can be resolved by computer. And you also must decide how to use it. You can not use photoshop to caculated or use caculating device to handle pictures. Confront with different problem we must use technologies in different methods. And it is the users' duty to decide which technology to use and how to use it to resolve problems. It needs the ability to think independently.

Third, technology sometimes may make mistakes or not work well. When these happen, the ability of thinking for oneself is demanded to resolve problems. Nobody can guarantee that technologies always work well and never make mistakes. We still use computer as a example. Computer is used more and more widely. But sometimes it may not work. It may break because we use it frequently. It demand the ability of humans to think for themselves to determine why it broke and repair it.

Forth, humans need not only to develop technologies which have been invented now but also to invent new technologies. The technologies which are used now can not satisfy humans though they give great help to humans. As the problems humans confront get more and more, and the need of humans grow higher and higher, humans need more and more better technologies to satisfy their need. For example, when train was invented, persons could not believe its high speed. And it bacame the fastest transport equiment. Every person was satisfied with its speed .But many years passed, the speed could not satisfy humans. So huamns developed train to make it run faster than before. And many years later, a new transport equiment plan appeared. The speed of train could compared with the speed of plane. Now,humans never stop developing plane in order to make it fly faster. Developing and inventing technologies need strong ability to think for oneself, even stronger than the ability humans had before.

In sum, though technology is used more and more widely in people's life, it doesn't surelly lead the ability of humans to think for themselves to deteriorate. Don’t forget that it is technology that resolve problems but it is humans that use, develop and invent technology.

First, technology is invented by humans.(这句话有点别扭，建议：it is human beings who create and develop technologies) From long ago, humans devote their time and energy to inventing new technologies.(太过了吧，就算有些科学家在研究也不能说humans devote their time and energy呀) The technologies imply the intelligence of humans. The technology tells us that the ability of humans to think for themselves is very strong. 我觉得论证得不好，仅仅是“人们创造了科技，科技告诉我们人类的思考能力很强，就一定意味着随着科技的发展人们自己思考的能力没有下降吗？

Second, well use(usage) of technology need(needs) the ability to think for oneself. Each technology has its own functions and range of using. Different technology has different method(methods) to use.(挺别扭的，你不觉得吗？) And one technology has different method (methods)to use when used in different condition or used to resolve different problems. We use computer (Taking computer)as a simple example. As we know, computer has strong functions. But you can not (cannot, 它的否定形式不可以分开写)use it to resolve all problems. You must use your own brain to judge what problems can be resolved by computer. And you also must decide how to use it. You can not use photoshop to caculated (calculate)or use caculating device(calculator) to handle pictures. Confront(confronted) with different problem(s) we must use technologies in different methods. And it is the users' duty to decide which technology to use and how to use it to resolve problems. It(指代不清) needs the ability to think independently. 例子没有代表性，用什么软件干什么事真的可以上升到the ability of humans to think for themselves的程度吗？

The speed of train could (be)compared with the speed of plane. Now,humans never stop developing plane in order to make it fly faster. Developing and inventing technologies need strong ability to think for oneself, even stronger than the ability humans had before.

In sum, though technology is used more and more widely in people's life, it doesn't surelly (surely) lead the ability of humans to think for themselves to deteriorate. Don’t forget that it is technology that resolve(s) problems but it is humans that use, develop and invent technology.

我自己也觉得这个例子没有什么代表性，可是就是想不出有力的例子。不知道大家有没有什么好的建议？

其实科技发展后，人们在使用科技成果的同时也要独立思考的例子挺多的，比如：

1 互联网的发展为我们提供了大量的信息，但是我们必须有能力从众多的信息中挑选出最能为我们服务的信息。

2 还是互联网的发展，使全球性的学术交流变成了可能，那么全球性交流本身就要求我们思考，对不同的人在某一个问题上的看法进行讨论

3一些科技的发展会带来一些问题，这些问题要我们思考，如果避免？ 在什么情况下如何使用是利大于弊？ 比如核电站，克隆等

4 汽车工业的发展让我们在如何建设城市道路和布局上大伤脑筋。
