60"The media—and society in general—mistakenly expect an individual to speak for a particular group, whether or not that individual truly represents the views of the entire group."

I agree with the speaker that the media-and society in general-makes a mistake to expect an individual to speak for a particular group if this individual cannot truly represent the views of the entire group. But in my opinion the media-and society in general- dose not necessarily make a mistake to expect the individual to speak for a particular group if this individual truly represents the views of the entire group.

First of all, I want to clarify some necessary conditions that an individual needs to represent the views of the entire group. Whether or not an individual can truly represents the views of the entire group depends on two things: First, this individual does things with full consideration of all the members of the entire group and make his or her best to gain benefits to them. For example, a political leader makes every political decision not just for his own political and economic interests but rather for his people. When a mayor is wondering if its city should build an heavy industrial factory, he have to take consideration of its citizen's interests. Second, not only the individual do things for all the group's members, but all or most of these members will accept his decisions and thoughts as well. If one of these two factors is not satisfied, this individual can not truly represents the views of the entire group.

On the one hand, If this individual we have clarified above cannot truly represent the views of the entire group, the media-and society in general-makes a mistake to expect an individual to speak for a particular group. Since the individual cannot truly represent the entire group, it is very likely that he or she will not make efforts to do things for this group and undoubtedly does not speak for this group. Thus, the media-and society in general will make a mistake if it expects this kind of individual to speak for the entire group. Let us take an example. Correspondents often seek to find some one who can represent a entire group to gain some information. A correspondent in Iraq that was still under the control of Saddam regime wanted to know the conditions of residents' materials and ideas, he gained amounts of information from a governor who was one of members of the authoritative regime. As a result, this correspondent made a mistake because he hardly could get the true information from that governor who did not speak for residents of Iraq at all.

On the other hand, If this individual can truly represent the views of the entire group, the media-and society in general-does not commit flaws to expect this individual to speak for a particular group. As in the example I talk above,  If  that correspondents interviewed someone who launched campaigns against the Saddam regime, who cared the poor living conditions of residents of  Iraq, and who can represent most of citizens in Iraq, he would get enough information about the residents' ideal and material conditions he wanted to gain.

In sum, we need a case-by-case analysis to clarify this question that the media makes a mistake to expect an individual to speak for a particular group if this individual cannot truly represent the views of the entire group. But the media-and society in general- dose not make a mistake to expect the individual to speak for a particular group if this individual truly represents the views of the entire group.

I agree with the speaker that the media-and society in general-makes 去sa mistake to expect an individual to speak for a particular group if this individual cannot truly represent the views of the entire group. But in my opinion the media-and society in general- dose not necessarily make a mistake to expect the individual to speak for a particular group if this individual truly represents the views of the entire group.你赞成又反对,至少赞成前面加个限定词吧,句子重复的感觉,你换一下,要不然有点罗嗦

First of all, I want口语化很浓的词,去 to clarify some necessary conditions that an individual needs to represent the views of the entire group. Whether or not an individual can truly represents the views of the entire group depends on two things: First, this individual does things with full consideration of all the members of the entire group and make his or her best to gain benefits to them. For example, a political leader makes别再make了,换 every political decision not just for his own political and economic interests but rather for his people. When a mayor is wondering if its??你也不应该用its啊 city should build an heavy industrial factory, he have to take consideration of its citizen's interests. Second, not only the individual do things for all the group's members, but all or most of these members will accept his decisions and thoughts as well. If one of these two factors is not satisfied, this individual can not truly represents the views of the entire group.不要老是he啊he的

On the one hand, If this individual we have clarified above cannot truly represent the views of the entire group, the media-and society in general-makes a mistake to expect an individual to speak for a particular group改点句式吧. Since the individual cannot truly represent the entire group, it is very likely that he or she will not make efforts to do things for this group and undoubtedly does not speak for this group. Thus, the media-and society in general will make a mistake if it expects this kind of individual to speak for the entire group. Let us take an example. Correspondents often seek to find some one who can represent aanentire group to gain some information. 结尾总一下

On the other hand, If this individual can truly represent the views of the entire group, the media-and society in general-does not commit flaws to expect this individual to speak for a particular group. As in the example I talk above, If that correspondents interviewed someone who launched campaigns against the Saddam regime, who cared the poor living conditions of residents of Iraq, and who can represent most of citizens in Iraq, he would get enough information about the residents' ideal and material conditions he wanted to gain.你要注意变化句式,特别是开头啊
