Project Title: Role of Soluble Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor (suPAR) in Pathogenicity of Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Main objective: To identify the signaling events which lead to upregulation of suPAR (and/or its increased cleavage to soluble form) in patients with active FSGS and validation and functional study in Plaur-/- mice.
Project Title: Role of Angiomotin in the Pathogenesis of Membranous Nephropathy. Main objective: To study the expression of angiomotin and its isoforms in podocyte, tubular cell cultures, rat and human kidney tissues, and the effects of angiomotin mutation in cultured cells, rat and zebrafish models.
