then i move to McGill for a PhD, then being an AP in a good school in Canada just now.

as you have switched from commerce to mechanical engineering, you may not mind taking another step further. Given your talent, it won't be a daunting task to switch again to something else~~cheer up man, i don't think comments like "old goat..no energy..no dream .." are reflecting the positive life attitude. At least u must a energetic person who devoted so many years into research, and finally pulled it off and got a faculty job. seriously, you have achieved something while the majority of your peers weren't able to...

finding faculty was my plan B, and switching to stats/cs was my planA in fact. I also changed my subject to mechanical engineering for PhD. so, as long as this subject is not KengDie, I'd change. maybe i will quit my job and go for a Master's in data science soon.
