238"Conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy."

Does conformity almost always lead to a dendening of individual creativity and energy? The speaker maintains so. As far as I am concerned, I fundamentally agree with the speaker’s statement that conformity always inhibits individual creativity and energy and disconformity usually stimulates individual creativity and energy.

Conformity means obey some general rules whether it is right or not; thus it makes individual become lazy and do not want to think or do something new. The standard test in Chinese education system is a case in point. Such standard tests always have only one system of correct answers and usually inhibit the creativity of students. For example, in literature subject, when the test asks the examinees the connotation of a sentence said by some famous people, there is only one correct answer regardless of how meaningful this sentence is. As a long run, the students tend to think something with a fixed method and dare not to think something new. One scholar had made an experiment to test creativity of students. He first drew a circle on the blackboard, and then asked the students what it is like. From fundamental students, he receive hundreds of answers such as the Sun, plate, wheel and so on, while from college students, he only received one answer, a circle. This experiment shows that the creativity of our students have been greatly weakened by standard education system.

On the other hand, disconformity stimulates individual creativity and energy, because it allows individuals to think freely and independently; hence individuals will more easily to pursue something new and devote their energy to their thoughts. Many great discoveries illustrate this point. For instance, before Mendel began his research in genetics, many people had already done lots of work in genetics. The common way of research at that time was doing experiments first and then finding theories or assumptions to explain the experiments. Mendel, however, did not comfort this rule and he took an opposite method: he first thought an assumption about genetics and then he did experiments to verify his assumption. Due to the disconformity and the talents of Mendel, he finally found the Mendel's law in genetics and was regarded as genetics father by following people. If Mendel had conformed the general method at his time, he would probably fail just as his contemporary researchers. It is obvious that disconformity encourages his creativity.

Admittedly, in some teamwork, it is necessary for most team members to conform to a base object.  Without a common object shared by all the members, the goal of the team will hardly be achieved. But the methods to reach this goal should not be limited, otherwise the members' creativity will be inhibited.

All in all, in most cases, conformity inhibits individual creativity and energy, and disconformity stimulates individual creativity. Therefore, our society and education should be more tolerant to those people or students who disobey the general rule as long as they do not break the basic moral standard and law.

Conformity means 加一个to吧?obey some general rules是否应该加一个no matter? whether it前后一致吗? is right or not; thus it makes individuals become lazy and do not want to think or do something new觉得别扭,这样行不行:thus it makes individuals become lazy with no intention to think of or do something new.. The standard test in Chinese education system is a case in point. Such standard tests always have only one system of correct answers and usually inhibit the creativity of students. For example, in literature subject, when the test asks the examinees由这个词吗?霍霍,我回去查一查 the connotation of a sentence said by some famous people, there is only one correct answer regardless of how meaningful this sentence is.这个例子不太合适,据我所知,语文考试的答案并不是唯一的,只是又一个推荐答案而已 As a long runIn the long run?, the students tend to think something这个something不如去掉吧? with a fixed method and dare not to think something new总觉得think后面直接加宾语很别扭. But the methods to reach this goal should not be limited, otherwise the members' creativity will be inhibited这个词已经出现三次了,在我印象里,赫赫.

All in all, in most cases, conformity inhibits individual creativity and energy, and disconformity stimulates individual creativity. Therefore, our society and education should be more tolerant to those people or students who disobey the general rule as long as they do not break the basic moral standard and law这个文章其它部分没有提到.

1、文章属于完全同意类型,并在body3中作了一点小小的让步。
2、用的两个例子很贴切,而且和文章的论证过程融为一体。
3、但body3相对于body1,2来说有些单薄,是为了使让步让的小一些吗?:)

稍微看了一下,觉得:
1。关于那个circle的例子我觉得不太好,是教育体制导致了学生们的conformity. 你的论点是thus it makes individual become lazy and do not want to think or do something new.  但我觉得学生们经过教育后是unable to think or do something new.  他们不是不想,是已经想不出了。
2。个人认为Mendal的例子举得太长了,显得第二段太冗长以至于说服力打了点折扣。我觉得不如把例子压紧一点,再多一个例子也好的
3。最后一段是不是没有时间写了?个人认为它和前两段关系不紧密,如果真的没有时间写,把它删去也可以的,因为你在文章开头和结尾的论点中都没有提到过teamwork

这句话里有两个明显的语法错误,改一下吧

首先,和conformity对应的该是不是 individuality? 那个disconformity看的我感觉别扭的要死。另外conformity就是obey general rule这个说法有点绝对,值得商榷。
感觉论证上比较充分,老兄,有一点我就不客气了,语言上你的进步不大啊。

Conformity means obey some general rules whether it is right or not; thus (TS里面是不是不要用thus hence conclusion这种词汇?)it makes individual become lazy and do not want to think or do something new. The standard(standarized) test in Chinese education system is a case in point. Such standard tests always have only one system of correct answers and usually inhibit the creativity of students. For example, in literature subject, when the test asks the examinees the connotation of a sentence said by some famous people, there is only one correct answer regardless of how meaningful this sentence is.实际上不一定是meaningful,而是意义的深远而复杂,complexity,然后可以仁者见仁,等等。用meaningful有点委屈这个例子了。 As a long run, the students tend to think something with a fixed method and dare not to think something new.前面部分和TS不是很一致 One scholar had made an experiment to test creativity of students. 多谢各位的建议。我先考下来慢慢看。:)

先解释一下BODY2:
TS是想说,CONFORMITY使人变懒,不去寻求新的方法和思想。然后那个标准化考试的例子就是为证明这个观点。因为学生都去CONFORM TO 标准答案了,所以也就不会去想其他新的答案。这个是CONFOMITY的具体表现形式。然后后面那个画圆的例子是CONFORMITY的结果:学生上学越多,创造性就越少。(PS:我觉得这个答案多少可以反映出创造性啊)。可能中间的衔接过度等不好,使人看上去有3部分分离的感觉。

BODY3这个例子偶试图一边举例一边分析,所以长了点。偶已经尽量缩短了啊,但是MENDEL到底怎么没有遵守CONFOMITY和他怎么取得成绩总得交代一下吧。至于举完例子后的总结偶是不太擅长,总觉得好象只能把TS重复一遍了。SIGH。

BODY4:是来不及写了。下次不写这么尴尬的一段了,呵呵。

另外文字上最近是没太努力,因为偶觉得偶最大的问题还是思想,文字上不是觉得没问题,只是觉得思想,论证上的问题更大。:)

For example, in literature subject, when the test paper asks the examinees the connotation of a sentence wrote by some famous people, there is only one answer regardless of how meaningful and complexity this sentence is. In the long run, the students incline to consider with a fixed method and dare not to create something new. The side-affect of this standard education system is showed by an experiment conducted by a scholar to test creativity of students. The scholar first drew a circle on the blackboard, and then asked the students what it is like. 我不明白的是,至少为什么body1的TS根本就没有什么上学时间长短的事情,然后段落中跑出来这样一个东西。have little ability to consider or do something new.前面根本就没提到到底和college/primary之类的学校什么关系。我的感觉是你在后面又引入了新的元素。至少是我感到这里很费解。(对原文,我还没看修改稿)

前面的TS是个宽泛的叙述,后面的上学是具体的例子。

两个问题
1。第一个body完全不用两个那么长的事实来说明。其实例子这种东西说一两句表达清楚就可以了,说明部分比较关键

2。对Mendel的那个例子我要想你说明一下。Mendel 是一个典型的按照科学程序来的人,在当时的植物学家中没有几个人像他那样能专心于实验和观察,他之前并没有任何成系统的遗传理论。他所作出的两条定律在他在世的时候没有人承认,并且受尽了嘲笑。但是他根本没有气馁,相信自己的成果。在他临终之前,他说:等着吧,我的时代中有一天会来临。果不其然,在1900年三大植物学家发现了这两条理论的重要价值,使Mendel的理论重建光日。从1900年开始才有了遗传学。
你说的质疑遗传理论的那个人是摩尔根Morgan,他从开始压根就不相信mendel的理论,并且用果蝇开始做实验来反驳,然而实验的结果完全和mendel的相一致, 并且morgan在研究果蝇的基础上创立了第三条理论,性连锁,和mendel 的两大理论一起并称为遗传三大理论。*(8好意思,我就是学这个地)

例子举错了很糟糕的
3。任何科学想要进步,都是no conformity的基础上的,很多例子可以举
you play to win, and the game has little meaning unless you do your upmost to win

呵呵。多谢小鱼的意见。我脑子里的例子有限,什么题目都是这几个人,呵呵。
不过MENDEL这个我的角度和你关注的不一样啊。MENDEL之前也有很多人做遗传实验啊,只不过没有得出结论而已。我想强调的是MENDEL通过和前人不一样的方法(他是第一个用豌豆做实验的)得出了新的结果。
你说的那个MORGAN的例子也许更好些。呵呵

PS:我这个生物的也学过一点 :)

在强调一下,在 mendel之前是没有遗传这个概念的,在他死后很多年才建立起来遗传这一学科。在mendel 发现遗传定律的前两年就有一个法国人诺丹(Nauding)发表了植物杂交的论文并且获得了法国政府的奖励。

“我想强调的是MENDEL通过和前人不一样的方法(他是第一个用豌豆做实验的)得出了新的结果。”
任何一个科学实验的对象都是有针对性的,每一个实验的对象都是由实验本身的目的所决定的。所以mendel使用豌豆作为对象只能说明在设计实验时他注重观察,排除其它因素对实验结果的影响。在说明他和前人不同上论据不充分。
