真恶心这种抽象的题,简直是精神枯竭。第四段实在是写不下去了。大家帮帮提供点例子吧。
173."Originality does not mean thinking something that was never thought before; it means putting old ideas together in new ways." 173. 创意不是指想人们没有想过的东西;而是指把旧的观点放在一起形成新的观点
The speaker asserts that originality only means putting old ideas together in new ways, which maybe true in some conditions, however, it cannot be applied to every fields of the world. In my opinion, originality not only means putting old ideas together in new ways but also thinking something that was never thought before.
Originality means proposing new ideas, exploring new possibilities and putting forward new solutions to questions. In this aspect, originality can equal to the word "inventiveness", which is also used to depict the ability of inventing things or ideas that has never emerged in the real world. There are numerous inventions in various areas accompaning with the development of history and society. Telephone, internet, mobile telephone are inventions in the communication field; abacus, calculator, computer are the intellective fruit of human kind; ship, train, airplane changed our ways of transportation, all of these are original works which were just a dream or even fantastic thinking before they appeared , not to say to be used widespread among the masses. Originality derives from the desire to advance and to facilitate; from the clairvoyance to observe every subtle relationship between things among them; from the stimulus to develop a new world..
On the other hand, originality also means rearranging old things in a new arrangement, changing the way we think of old ideas or covering with a new appearance on old objects. All of these are based on the word "old" because without the old things the new ones can not be thrived and developed; such activities also call for a capability, that is , creativity. Creativity is an ability with which individuals can create surprising and ingenious ideas and works. Have you ever seen an exhibition composed of works that are made of various garbages like rubbish bins, shattered potteries, broken besoms and so on. You may consider them real garbages in the first glimpse, however, after careful observation you find they convey the ideas and thinking of the artist who are willing to express themselves to the public or evoke the public awareness of some ethical subjects. They don't change the structures and the internal fabrics of the materials they work with, but only put their creativies on the objects. So originality dose not mean some earthshaking ideas but your own creativity to express your own ideas.
Although there are two different definitions of originality, the two are not extreamly separate from each other. Every field we are dealing with, no matter the pure academic circles or the miscellaneous area of art, both definition are used on individuals and their works in those fields.
Consequently, due to the analysis and reason mentioned above, which sometimes correlate with one another to generate an integrate whole and thus become more persuasive than any one of them, it could be safely concluded that originality means thinking something that was never thought before or putting old ideas in a new way and both of these meanings are right and in different fields. |
