There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws.


Laws, in a broad sense, could be viewed as the consensus of the public and the government. According to the speaker, the two types of laws, which he/she categorized into just and unjust ones, should be obeyed and resisted by every individual. As far as I am concerned, taking into account the attribute of laws and the stability of the society as a whole, one should try his/her best to obey and defend the just laws, while at the same time emend the laws which he/she consider to be unjust.

To begin with, the process of developing a certain law is actually the process for the different parties of the government and the delegates of the populace to arrive at common ideas. Consequently, these ideas, have spoken for a relatively large proportion of the total population. However, still there will be different opinions to argue about its justice. But justice is never for all as laws always restrict certain groups of people. For them who are restricted, the laws may seem to be unjust, and they may set about to resist the laws. In this point, this resistance could be viewed as the discordance of a smaller group of people with the larger ones. It is obvious that no society will sacrifice its majority for the minority, to maintain its general stability, the minority's resistance are often put down to defend the authority of the laws, just or unjust. For supporting examples one need look no further than Japan's new military laws. During the Iraqi War, the Japanese government composed a new law to legitimate sending army out of the territory of the Island. Consider that Japan was the country that invaded others during the Second World War; many sober and peace-loving Japanese were against this law. However, as mentioned above, this law came from the consensus of the Japanese governments and other classes of the society that support the action to sent army abroad, which they consider it beneficial for Japan to regain the image of a powerful country. The power of the former people is quite small compared to the latter ones, thus, whether they obey or disobey makes little influence on the result.

Secondly, in any institutionalized nations, certain legitimate procedures can be found to amend the laws that people consider to be unjust. It is naive for an individual to simply obey or disobey the laws according to his/her own ideas. Abortion, used to be illegal in many countries, has changed this status in places where the people there are open to different choice and alternatives by the effort of certain groups of people. In Brazil, homosexual is legitimated by several demonstrations of the homosexual people and their endeavor to persuade the government. Finally the government made it legal for them to get married. This illustrates that the real effective way of showing different ideas of the justice of the law is not merely by obeying or offending it, but endeavor to make changes to it.

To sum up, the justice of the law can seldom arrive at consensus. However, one should under most circumstances obey the laws and try to make changes to it through legal ways rather than simply resisting the laws he/she thinks to be unjust.

第一个body的TS不如改成the reason why one should obey the just laws is that…毕竟后面都是在讲原因，这样写起来让人读到总结的时候更清楚些。
我个人觉得第二个body可以在展开一些，欠缺的部分在于为什么endeavor比简单的统一反对更重要，你讲的主要是现象，其实在多分析两三句话就更好了。
