哈哈，逻辑很简单。但是他们提供的对两个单词 “trenchant” 和 “poignant”的解释实在很牵强啊。我去～不知道大家是怎么看的？我是觉得两个词都可以。poignant 有一个意思是 “ Piercing; incisive: poignant criticism.” “Trenchant：Forceful, effective, and vigorous: a trenchant argument. （See Synonyms at incisive.）adj. Caustic; cutting: trenchant criticism.” 如果考场遇到这种题目，真心只能抓阄了。

我查的韦氏词典上：
poignant: causing a strong feeling of sadness;
Full Definition
1: pungently pervasive<a poignant perfume>
2 a (1): painfully affecting the feelings: piercing (2):deeply affecting: touching
   b: designed to make an impression: cutting<poignant satire>
3 a: pleasurably stimulating
   b: being to the point: apt
synonyms see pungent, moving

trenchant :very strong, clear, and effective
1：keen, sharp
2: vigorously effective and articulate
3 a: sharply perceptive: penetrating
   b: clear-cut, distinct
根据句子来看，offensive带有一定的感情色彩，相比较而言，poignant更侧重对于情感上的影响，类似于pungent，而trenchant倾向于将“有效，清楚”这个层面。所以我认为应该是poignant合适一些。

哈哈，你的理解正好和magoosh的相反啊～
“"Poignant" is definitely tempting, but it really means means evoking strong personal emotions (especially sadness), and is almost never used for something that incites conflict. "Poignant commentary" would inspire a moment of reflection and reevaluation, not argument. It's a passive and introspective word.

Meanwhile, trenchant doesn't have to imply offensive--and often doesn't--but it can create a debate. It's a much more outward, aggressive word, and that's more appropriate for the text.”

用陈圣元的分隔法，很明显which后的意思是避免被别人抨击、挖苦、讽刺，所以空格应该填带有激进意思的词，poignant更合适
