对的。不过欧洲那边我基本缩小到copenhagen Business School, Stockholm School of Economics, St. Gallen吧 ...
As someone had been studying & considering in all of the schools mentioned by OP, it worth for me to write something here, though not sure if that's "correct" or not.
It think the ulimately what you wanna be:
1. work as an accountant: go big 4 after graduation, forgot about a master, but target for the CPA title first.
2. work in banking, finance, doing some kind of financial modeling stuffs like equity research, business valuation, and ........., i think it's better to focus on finding a job first: a bachelor is enough, a master in financ is qust as a back up if you cannot land in a relevant position. Of course you may consider a MFin/MBA/etc afterwards
3. quant fina: for some quantitative role, a bachelor in qfin is not really enough, and in quite some case a master title is highly useful for some position. this case i will consider finding a decent summer quantitative internship somewhere, and get an admission from a good financial mathematics program.
4. financial econ: somehow similar to (3), but more on theory, i.e. more research focus, and some stuffs there are not that practical. with enough empirical skills, risk and asset maanagement and etc is also possible.
5. macro: when one go to macroeconomics, prepare for a PhD. though master is enough a trainee in central bank and etc, but for any decent role, that's quite not enough. Indeed similar to (4) in sense that one likely to need a PhD to do some good research work in any institution.......
from (2) to (5), you should have different list of target application school, as in:
(2): the reputation is the most important, and also the location if you want to work afterwards
(3): a good mathematics stat computer faculty, with research interest on FM, and good connection to industry is the key
(4): better to be at a univeristy with both strong industrial reputation (for work), and strong faculty in that research area
(5): focus on the academic reputation, especially with the faculty reserch interest. good repuation in public sector is of concern too.
doesn't mean that you can target only 1 of those, but means if you have too much target (or not sure what to target) or target that differs too much, you are likely to have not enough time to prepare for them well (indeed this also means selection of undergraduate coursework, but you will be year 4 so let it be)
location is a key issue, which quite depends on how much you want to stay for work, and how long you want to study.
concerning achloarship, i think i will suggest doing it by this way:
just applying to all of the school on your list, with the scholarship, and take in in consideration as the overall cost. |
