As the rapid development of science and technology, the world globalization trend is becoming more and more apparent and at the same time the relationship among the countries is more and more close. Then we are confronted with the question that whether it is possible for us to unite together to set up a global university in which all the students and other intellectuals could come together to solve the most persistent social problems of the world. Considering both the advantages and disadvantages, I am of the opinion that we should form up such a university and help each other to solve these hard nuts of the modern world.

Firstly, the most significant advantage of a global university is that we could make the largest use of the resources of the world to solve the social problems. As we could see, there are so many universities all over the world, but few of them have united together to solve a social problem. Undoubtedly, this is a waste of knowledge and human resources. Were all the greatest intellectuals of the world come together and form an organization, say, a global university, how powerful this organization would be? Besides, the capital of all the universities put together would be able to solve anything of the world, including the hardest problem of the modern world, even the pollution of the environment. With so large amount of money, we would be able to hire the most intelligent groups of the world to crack it. In brief, a global university would make the greatest use of the resource of the world, including intellectuals, capitals and so on, which is helpful to solve the problems of the world.

Secondly, besides the benefit of solve the problems by making use of all available resources, another advantage is that it can help us to gain a better understanding of the culture of others and associate with them more smoothly, which finally enhances the peace of the world and ensure the steady development of the world. Due to the unbalanced development of the world, some areas are developing much faster than others, thus racial problems come into being, especially in the Moslem world, in which people are the most conventional ones of the world. They are imbued with a sense of hatred toward other peoples of the world. If a global university is built, and all the students of the world can stay in the same classroom and play hand in hand, then such gap between the races would one day disappear. Moreover, besides smoothing the racial gaps, we would also learn the pith of other's culture and use them to promote the development of ourselves. One of the greatest figures of antiquity of China, Confucius, is affecting the western world deeper and deeper; while the Christmas Day in China also becoming more and more popular and many admire the God of the west, Jesus. Both benefit a lot from each other and promote the peace of the world.

Finally, inevitably, new problems may turn up, especially during the cooperation of the intellectuals in the university. It is not deniable that the gap between the races could not be razed in one day. And during the cooperation of the intellectuals of all countries, problems and conflicts might trouble them sometimes. Their perspectives of the world are different, besides, they may also have different value systems, ideas, customs etc.; and all these might cause stress and debate among them. But we should not be pessimistic, for as time goes by, their differences would gradually disappear and one day all of us would be live in a peaceful world, in which no conflicts, no war and no other social problems exist.

In sum, globalization ties all the peoples on our planet together, and we are faced up with the similar social problems. Considering the benefits and shortcoming of a global university, we could see that the benefits overweight the shortcomings, thus we should set up such a university to solve social problems and ensure the whole world develop in a healthy and steady direction.

there are so many(换个词，太常见了） universities all over the world,
of the culture of others  (other culture不就行了？）
Due to the unbalanced development of the world,（这一处可以改为progress of the world,太多人用那个词了
more and more 有很多替换用法的，比如increasingly,...呵呵，这会也想不起来很多了。
还有就是2楼说的，你第二点的确写偏了

其实这句话在文中的作用不是很大，跟下面的university的引出没有多大的关系，所以还如直接开门见山，或者将这句话改一下：说globlization的同时也导致了很多persist social problems，然后再讲，如果只是讲全球化，这句话的意义不大
