选课遇到点儿小麻烦，求指导~

我是gatech经济的小硕，想以后继续PHD，所以想选修一些数学课。本来想刷一下本科时分数比较低的Real Analysis，但是很悲剧的是这门课的名额没了，wait list也接近满了，所以很可能修不了了。我想知道如果我选了更高level的课，拿到好成绩的话能不能抵消掉这门课的不良影响呢？我刚刚选上了differential topology，但是这个课貌似难度很大，没几个人选。。。如果考得不好的话，会不会造成新的硬伤呢？要不我就再跟实分析开课的老师argue一下，争取一个选课名额，可是这样貌似很难。。。纠结死了，求学长学姐们给点儿建议啊~

ph.d. level micro and macro would be ideal substitutes for real analysis if that's possible at all. I do not know much about differential topology but base on Wiki, it is far more advanced than the usual prerequisites math courses in all econ ph.d. programs. In fact, it could be one of the core courses for 2nd or 3rd year math ph.d. if I recall correctly.

Given all my information and the assumption that you did not do any functional analysis course in undergrad, I would rather advise against you taking differential topology.

Thank you for your advise! As the gatech doesn't allowed master students to choose PHD level courses, it's impossible for me to choose higher level micro/macro. I have emailed the teacher of real analysis to see if he can add more seats.
