这个题目很诡异的是一开始说hollywood能够alter our perception，但是第三句话说大家认为是canard，连个remote possibility都不是。求大神解答。

我觉得最后一句应该是想表达      
对看电影的人来说，电影里的故事最多也就是个canard  这件事情发生的可能性基本为零。
意思就是他们全盘相信了被歪曲的故事，与前面一致啊，不知道对不对

最后一句大体意思是：这种故事本来只应该被当作一个canard看待的，但是这些观众却不认为他们假。
最后一句话后半句表达的是这些人信，但由于最后有一个even，所以应该不止是信，而且是信的程度很深，三个选项都有“假”，“不令人相信”之类的意思，remote possibility是三个里面“假”的程度最轻的，加上前面的"even not",就可以表达“他们甚至连假的程度最轻的状况都否定”，即可表示他们非常信。

可以从smugly（沾沾自喜地）和“knowing”的双引号里看出来：
To take but one example, after watching Milos Forman’s Oscar-Winning Picture, Amadeus, audiences smugly walk away “knowing” the Italian composer Antonio Salieri sordidly did away with the divine genius Mozart.
另一方面，这句承接着首句completely altering not only past events but our perception of these events，是个example，也能帮助判断。

btw最后一句是一个主语从句。
