Position details

Two fully funded Research Assistant positions are now available for PhD students interested in 1) cyber-physical system, 2) renewable energy integration, 3) big data, and/or 4) cognitive radio in Dr. Jin Kocsis (Jin Wei)’s lab in the Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Akron (Akron, Ohio). Outstanding master students will also be considered.

The positions are expected to start in the Fall 2015 semester. The stipend will be no less than $1500/mo. Performance-based bonus is available. Furthermore, because of the research collaboration, internship opportunities in national labs are available. Students who are passionate about (or addicted to) research are strongly encouraged to email Dr. Jin Kocsis at jwei1@uakron.edu , along with his/her CV and an optional brief description of his/her research experience.

Requirements

Applicants are preferred to have a bachelor degree (or near completion) in electrical/electronic engineering, computer engineering, and computer science. Research experience in statistical signal processing, artificial intelligence (machine learning, computer vision, and robotics), renewable energy (solar/wind), cyber security, and wireless communications is a plus. Requirements at department, college and university level must be met.
