The statement is talking about whether celebrities are more significant for youth. I think although younger people are eager to success, celebrities also important for elders.

Celebrities can give youth confidence and inspire them to go further. Receiving a celebrity shows the value of a person. There is no doubt that someone who is rewarded will work harder for more achievement. My brother here can be used as a good example. He is a seller in a little computer company now. What he mainly focuses on is marketing survey. He wants to know who need the computer he sales most and what price will be accepted wildly. So in the first years of his work, his performance in the company was not very well. However, in the next years, as he adjusted his marketing strategy, the selling quantity was greatly improved. He was also rewared as the most valuable seller in the company. This celebrity proves that what he did in the last year is right. Now, he is very confident and works hard to improve his performance further.

For elders, celebrities are the perfect conclusion of their lifes. Every elder must want to gain a celebrity before retire to approve their contribution, especially for a scientist professor. Professor Zhang, who retired last term in my university, commit his whole life to research on fuel cell. He keeps working for forty five years. The reason why he retires so late is that he wants to make some amazing outcomes. He needs a celebrity to approve his work. So he does his researcher very hard every day. He is always the first one who arrives the institution and the last one who leave there. Thanks to his persistance, he finally makes a breakthrough about fuel cell. Most people in the my city can drive the car that equipped with his product. He can live a satisfied life in his hometown now.

So it hard to say celebrities are more important to who. Every need them to inspire or approve himself.
