The passage and the article are mainly about the effects of the science of archaeology. According to the passage, lots of artifacts were at risk through the process ; however, the professor argues that it is not as severe as the reading suggests.

The author claims that many treasures were lost, for the process of construction is way too harmful. He believes that excervating is  responsible for the reduction.  Nevertheless, the professor mentions that the goal to dig is to examine the conditions, which would be guided after the plan made by  local government and building companies.

The passage states that the dilema of lacking money is another problem, since governmental support is always limited in certain area. However, the professor points that the practical finantial support is not essentially based on the authority agencies, they are mostly paid by building companies, who can select the site to invest .

The author indicates that the workforce issue in the archalogy job marketing, thus, may give rise to the declination of people. On the contrary, the professor presents that it enhanced the job services, for professional individuals are well paid in reality. They were served as people examining artifacts, making plans or doing researches for the acadamic data and writing articles concerning them. In other words, it benefits to increase the number of experts in the field.
