西北大学的： We encourage students to provide abstracts from their papers or articles as a way of broadening the scope of their applications—the same for the diversity statement if you desire.  However, please note, it is not an admissions requirement, only an invitation.

普度的diversity statement好像是美国native的申请者如果有意申请奖学金的话需要写，international applicants 不用写。
