东京大学 MA ECON ad

LZ论坛万年潜水党，最近看到很多offer贴也决定发帖回馈下社会。就像很多小语种国家的一样， 这个项目用英语教学，前几届中国人似乎没什么申请PHD的，所以具体情况也不清楚，但是听说日本人外申的placement不错。登陆网站看了下有几个教授的publishing挺不错的，最近新招的几个AP水平很高，并且据说很愿意推荐学生（其中一个经济版好像有人提到过），课程听说非常的难...LZ打算恶补下数学
PS：LZ的数学水平直接开始自学实分析和动态递归靠谱吗？

Even though you don't have advanced math&econ courses, strong recommendations, I'd say you deserve a better program.
I'm not saying this program is not good. I mean, the qualify of this program is good. However, this is just an ad. Considering the high tuition and living costs in Tokyo, life will be hard. If you can pay $$$, then why not try US? (as expensive as todai, better reputation in US and also China) And why not try Europe? (less expensive!)

As of professors who put their students' profile on their own website, this is quite common in Japan. Also, Japanese professors here (in US) also do such things. I'm not sure how strong it will be.

It seems that you have determined to accept this ad? Then my suggestion is: apply for as many scholarships as you can. There are many kinds of scholarships in Japan. As long as you have money, this will be a pretty nice program. Believe me, money talks a lot.

cong！！确实看到不少韩国日本人去很好的phd的，但貌似本科是本国的居多。。。
看了楼主的定位贴，数学课只有基本的呢，直接上实变未必太困难，补一下实数理论估计可以试试（我的实变就是硬修的，虽然最后分数很低）。。动态递归可能压力偏大了。。龚六堂那本书很棒，你可以试着看看数学附录，看看能不能看懂。

这位学姐好看的起我:lol  LZ申请前也翻了很多往届的profile 发觉DUKE CEMFI PSE LSE之类希望不大，自己学术背景太一般了...再加上这个AD来的很早就没有继续申了     东大的学费的话不到3万RMB 一年，所以虽然是AD但也不会贵到美国那种程度啦
  日本教授那个信息超有用，看来推荐信还是得看自己表现了:mad:

LZ的标准化考试简直没得说，其实我觉得CEMFI和LSE应该很有希望啊~

之前在寄托上基本没有看到过关于东大的信息，好佩服LZ的勇气！要我我就不敢报

1. not that many master econ in US is better than it. I guess less than 10.
2. it is much cheaper......even without scholarship....tuition of 500K+ JPY annual is around 4500 USD per year only.
3. Money talks a lot......and thus don't go US for a master in econ for academic purpose in general......

关于资金的话，日本国立一般学费至少都是50% waive
奖学金就基本别指望了

问题是这个项目是english，和general的正好岔开了
