indeed I can tell you this ranking is indeed quite consistent for years already...........

1. CUHK have the business school with longest history in HK, and thus the network,
2. HKUST is also named as as university of stress and tension, and thus fit the requirement of accounting field (long hours and crazy workload)
3. HKU is a bit behind, as they were not focuing too much on the business school, and the program structure is not solid enough.
4. PolyU did had a solid network in accounting, mainly due to the fact that before it is a university, they was a polytech which provide higher diploma education in many technical subject (e.g. engineering, and of course including accounting). and thus here comes the network (at that time, UST did not exist yet, and CUHK is famous for their business school)

the recent trend is HKU starts to pay more attention to the business school, and PolyU was in a bit downward trend due to the management...........

本来一个专业哪个学校更好也是很难说的 <--- I know that's difficult for you, but if you have some information about the % of bachelor in acct / business entering big 4, or the development of higher education system in HK, things will become much easier.

理工会计并不偏研究~~是港校中会计中相对很偏应用的啦

如果有前三那的确前三更好~~不过他的是城市金融和理工会计~~~。

如果留港，第一，港人更prefer理工，第二，理工ACC很棒。第三，理工history长一点，has a better network.

for OP's case........it depends on the career plan and goal, more than the difference between the university. and this is then also affected by the nature of previous experience...........

1. it is really interesting to see someone with @163.com to say "港人更prefer xyz"
polyu vs cityu (general subject) is a very hot topic indeed.......and i will say the answer is.....they are in same tier.

2. if it is polyu acct vs cityu acct.......polyu one must be the choice. but here the subject is different, and since the two uni are of same tier, the choice of major should dominate the chocie between school.

这两个专业都还不错总的来讲会计就业面会更广一点。
如果回国去银行或者其他体制内单位建议选择城大金融，不是因为金融专业是因为国内招聘比较看重综合排名，理工排名相对较低。
如果回国去事务所单位或者完全靠自己找工作，选择理工会计。会计就业面广比较。
另外理工会计是全港最好的会计，城大商学院是亚洲第二的商学院。自己根据自己情况抉择一下吧。祝顺利。
