CS小学妹的求助

1、目前有2个学校的offer，一个是渥太华ECE，一个是温莎的cs meng, 温莎的是16个月的课程，其中包含4个月的实习，但是担心拿不到3年的工签。 求大神们给点指点，16个月的课程到底能不能拿到3年的工签呢？这应该怎么抉择去哪里？ 加拿大找工作很看重学校的好坏么？谢谢~

do you have your admission letter yet? usually on that letter it indicates the length of the program. My old UW admission letter says the master program is 1 to 2 years, I finished in 1 year, but I have 1 classmate extended her program for an addtional term (during that term she found a job postition in Edmonton) antoher 2 classmates transfered from course based program to thesis based (with self picked supervisor) they extended their program for another 2 terms (8 month). They all got 3 year post graduate work permit. If you find a job before your graduation, no need to worry too much about the work permit length, you can apply for immigration (you can apply for provincial nomination before getting your degree, as long as you have completed all the requirements, the department will offer you a letter). However, if you havn't found a job around your graduation date, you should talk to the graduate student chair and discuss potencial extention. The only draw back is that for the extended term if you are not doing thesis, you might have to pay for your own tuition (department funding is usually available only for current students).

Ps. The trick is to apply for a longer student permit. If your program completion length is 1 year to 2 years, when you apply for student permit put down you need 2 years to complete your program. I have seen ppl do that.
