很多人都想象,在古代希腊,(加这个是让你感觉到time shift), 那些古希腊哲学家穿着TOGA漫无目的地走在希腊的集市上, 一个劲儿没完没了地讲着一些(他们自己认为)特别重要的问题; 然而哲学依然活跃在今时今日, 只是咱把地儿从集市换到了英特耐尔: 网络上供这些爱刨根问底爱智力开发闲得没事儿干的家伙讨论那些(和几百年前)一模一样的问题的地儿多了去了.

是的, 最后一句是有点绕口的. 来剖析下.

红色的, 是废话. 一句话只有这四个词. 就是很多网络集散地存在着.

要按常规语法写, 该怎么写呢?

这么读得绕死你. 所以, exist到前面去了.

这句废话里面呢, 也有一个从句. 就是,

in which the intellectually curious discuss the very same questions that once reverberated through the open air of Athens’ marketplaces

好了最后来个简化版:

many online venues exist in which the intellectually curious discuss the very same questions.

正常语序的话, 这句话就是这样的:

the intellectually curious discuss the very same questions in many online venues.
