也就是他们一直说的是Play it again, Sam 但是电影里真正说的是Play it, Sam，他们还以为是演员说错词了呢。于是在他们说play it again，Sam的时候，他们自然是表面上引用电影中的词而不是忠实地（faithful）引用或者追溯地引用电影中的词

botch是引申为粗心的意思了吗？

botch的意思就是错误吧，不需要引申也可以说通；bandy about 就是说当这些虚假的引用“广为传播”，这些虚假的引用能使真正的原话变得可疑。
