我的签证准备（上）

昨天（三）一贴，毁誉参半，我向来不是个很care别人说什么的人，但我清楚知道，这个
时候是visa的关键时刻，如果因为我个人的思想有问题，而误导了大家，就很不好。思虑
再三，虽有压力，但也有鼓励，有人还在期待，而且说出的话，不该食言，所以，我决定
，我还是要发我的感想，但是今天我会尽量多少我自己怎么做，少发表评论。而且，提醒
大家，一家之言，无论如何总有偏颇，请姑且听之，自己做好取舍。

我第一次接触visa，是5月4日，和applerabbit他们几个一起聊，当时我一点都没准备，兴
冲冲抱着先有个大致概念再说的想法就去了。感觉很有收获，大家一起集思广益，的确比
一个人想要好，那天，我发现一个问题，就是准备visa一定要因人而异，背景不同，说法
不同，准备方向也不同。

后来断断续续，也没有太花时间在visa上，也就是有空的时候想想一些东西而以，进步也
不大。我gg说，准备visa的时候正是你自己理清思路，思考未来的时候，应该抓住这个好
机会，好好地规划一下自己的前程。我认为这是对的，所以我想东西想的很细，不是为了
敷衍vo的问题，而是为了真正做规划，真正说服自己。这可能也是后来找到一些比较适合
自己的答案的原因吧。

我总结了一些点，写给我自己，算是一些经验，让自己珍藏。但是，同时，也希望对大家
能有所帮助，能和朋友分享，我幸苦得敲键盘，努力的回忆也算没有白费。

一，我的问题准备

108问/25问都很经典，不过我还是注意到，他们是在99年最早出现的，虽然后面屡有增删
，修改，但赶紧依旧不能完全跟上多变得形势。

108问/25问是死的，而vo是活的，要用死的去套活的，总是有点不够用的感觉。当然，最
基本的问题还是可以“以不变应万变”的。我后来没有完整的看过108问，25问在visa前一
天看了一下，感觉自己好像基本都能答，即使没准备过的问题，也能言之有物，心里就比
较踏实。

我还是觉得visa是一种交流，不是背书考试，所以更重要的是交流的思路。我始终赞成一
个观点：签证官想放过的是他们需要的移民者，和他们不需要，但没有移民倾向的人。据
此，我把visa问题分为两大类。

1，考察你是否优秀的问题
比如what will you do in the united states?
how many universities did you apply?
why you choose this university?
How did you know this unviersity?
Have you any scholarship?

这些问题总是在开始时问，vo就是想看看你的志气，你的理想，你的取舍标准，你被什么
样的学校认可了，然后基于这些形成“对你的认同感”，判断你是否是一个优秀的人。前
几年的签经上有人说，vo有时会告诉你，他不相信你会回来，但是仍然给你visa。这就是
说，你很优秀，那么你以后即使移民，也是会给他们国家做大贡献的，他也认了。大家注
意，美国始终是个移民国家，技术人才进口是很重要的一部分。

所以，我准备的时候，回答这些问题都要围绕“体现自己很优秀”这样一个中心，而不是
就事论事回答的没错就好了。要充分体现自己的优秀气质，让vo尊重你，那样，他们会比
较容易尊重你的选择。

举个例子吧，
vo: how many universities gave you offer?
me: Two, DUKE and Maryland. Duke granted me a full financial aid and the gradu
ate director said: you are the right person we are looking for.

我想说，我是被你们的牛校请去念书的，他们对我的评价很高，我也很有自信。

vo: How did you know this university?
me: Prof ** in my current lab was a visiting scholar from DUKE. He highly reco
mmended it to me. I kept myself updated on this university and gradually found
it's best-fit for me.

选择都不是一蹴而就的，一个激发是开始，而一个过程的思考则代表你对此选择是认真的
，因而也会是忠诚的。我个人觉得这样比说，我从usnews上知道它，并一见钟情要好一些
吧。

2，考察移民倾向的问题

如果vo对你的优秀由于每种原因没有认可（可能是没表达好，或者也可能就是vo戴了有色
眼镜），那么他就要重点考察你的移民倾向了。移民倾向的核心当然是plan了，而plan又
分为主plan和备用plan，我感觉，从现在的形势来看，备用plan的作用大家千万不可小视
。

经典问题：
what's your plan after graduation?
what will you do with your degree?
How if you can't find this position in China?
How if I don't give you the visa today?

我当时有一次在zixia上看到有人讨论最后一个问题，我写了一个答案，大家看看，不知道
如何。

vo: How if I don't give you the visa today?
me: Well, I do set Chinese universities as my backups and I will surely explor
e on my beloved research field. However, I'm afraid it's a pity that Duke univ
ersity lose a worthy phd candidate as I am, just because I can't be issued the
visa today. I beleive you wouldn't like to, either.

呵呵，我觉得这时候求情挺没用的，而且自己说着也不爽，要在说明自己完全有备用的情
况下，表示，我不去是你们的损失，我会很遗憾，你大概也会遗憾的，但还好我的祖国会
张开双臂欢迎我留下的。

移民倾向第二重问题，就是plan里的细节问题了，以考察，你是否对你的plan做过细致思
考，他是否实际可行。

例如：
What kind of position you will take?
What's your salary then?
Will you be a professor for a life long time?
what specified field will you work on?
How if you can find a well-pay job in the US?

这些问题，大家还是好好想想，尽量想的圆满些，最近有很多同学因为对plan不够细致化
而被拒的，比如他问你你回来做教授会参与那个project啥的。还是那句话，你考虑的约细
致，就越能说明，你是认真的，你真的想清楚了要回来，不是说空话的。自己说明白，比
拿出sl来档着，好得多得多。

移民倾向第三重问题，相对比较隐蔽，申请学校的问题，大家都知道了不要说了10所，20
所的，给人的感觉是你不够自信，而且你死活非要去美国。另外，好多同学申了美国以外
的学校，还可能有offer，说不说出来就看你自己了，如果你能让vo相信，你是为了学东西
，哪儿好，我去哪儿，那也可以，否则还是慎重吧，很容易让人觉得，你怎么样都要离开
中国，就更不会相信你学完还能回国了。

例如：
Did you apply for any Chinese universities? Why not?
Any universities outside the US?
How if you didn't get offer from the US?

虽然漏了一些25问的问题，但我觉得按照这个思路，基本概括了vo想知道的几个方面，说
不同的问题，要针对不同的function来说，考察你优秀否时就不要谦虚，考察你是否想好
了回国呢，你就不要空话连翩，说些表面的“虚”话，而要尽量增强回答的信息量，说“
实”话。

二，我的准备方式

我自己没有把问题和答案写下来，弄一个Q&A，我觉得那样我真的很难记住，而且会有依赖
感，好像背书，一旦不记得下一句，自己就不知道该说什么了，我觉得要写可以只写些po
int，到时自由组合就好了。

我的准备方式主要就是两种：不停的想，以及不断的interview。

1，不停的想

没事的时候我就想我的一些问题，然后和我gg讨论，听取他的意见，他的思路比我清晰，
而且做人比我更坦白，我什么不对，他总是会说我的，不会敷衍说我对。上个礼拜，我总
是很晚睡着，因为常常想一些东西，想的很激动，第二天来和gg讨论，再做修改。

平时的时候，没事就和自己说，很有自信的说，说着说着，有些答案熟的不能再熟了，什
么情况下都能脱口而出了。

思考，我总是认为比记忆更重要，而且学会思考，也有助于你应付临场的突发情况，只要
有思想在，你就不怕，就可以和vo用思想交流，而不是用死的答案去堵炮眼。多想各种各
样可能的问题，就有备无患了，eva jj曾经说：要把自己往死里问。

2，不断的interview

对练是有效的，嘿嘿，其实我虽没看25问，但我想我对练时，我的同伴也该差不多把25问
全了吧。而且自己和自己说，和同别人说终究很不同的，开始时，别人一提问，我就没事
心跳，眼睛跳，不知道怎么办好了。后来，习惯了就好，再多人，也不所谓了，大概脸皮
厚了，呵呵。

interview又分两种，被interview，和interview别人，其实一样是提高的过程。

被interview时，就当作是实战，认真对待，最好说好，对方能问的越多越死越好，比如s
pruce是个比较出色的vo，他总是打断我，比tt还tt，呵呵，还总是问我比较致命的问题，
一回两回不舒服，后来就把应变能力和心如止水的功夫练出来了。我想这大概也是我能勇
敢面对jfmm的原因吧。

自己做vo是很有意思的，大家不要放过这种好机会，这个时候，你可以设身处地地想想vo
到底是怎么想的，而不要简单的给朋友念几个25的问题。我总是发现，自己做vo时，就离
vo的心里近了一步，我能体会到问问题也是有逻辑在里面的，问什么样的问题，基于我想
知道什么以及我对什么产生了疑问，前者是vo主动，后者是vo被动，所以回答着可以主动
引导vo思路的，但是一定要对自己引导的方向有把握，否则当vo疑惑于你的某个词，某种
说法时，他一个本能的简单问题会让你不知所措。多做vo，知己知彼！到了自己一个人的
时候，可以仔细想想自己当时的心里状态，从而指导自己的准备。

同时，大家也可以体会一下，什么是“心里认同感”，有时候，我做vo，听别人的答案，
最后我也觉得没问题可问了，人家总是有问必答，但我最后说：我就是不信。为什么？为
什么会有这种感觉？仔细想想，会很有帮助。我和ryry在网上练plan时，jj告诉我：你说
的滴水不漏，可我就是不信。我当时没有得意，没有怪ryry jj太苛刻，我意识到这是个及
其及其严重的问题，后来，我觉得放弃我的原先的plan了。认不认同毕竟是听者的感觉，
说者再自以为好，听者不认同，还是不行的。vo也是人，人的心里总能模仿的，建议大家
以后做vo时体会一下，希望能有帮助啦。

当然有一点要提醒的，如果人家是明天就要去了，可别太苛刻了，别再说：我不信，或者
往死里问。我还是很感激spruce，最后他对我的vo太友好了，三句话就让我window 10，明
知他是在鼓励我，还是觉得信心百倍了。

签证准备和心理分析
本人6月24号北京1000过。从踏上寄托路那天，就一直得到网上认识的、不认识的英雄的支
持，汲取养分不少，终成今日的正果。饮水思源，本人决心也写点什么帮助那些在这条路
上努力跋涉的朋友。
签证是寄托路上的最后一站，俗话说行百里路，半九十，签证成功的重要性当然不能忽视
，否则功亏一篑。网上签经不少，心得也不少，但是总觉得有点乱，尚无系统的总结和归
纳。本人沉于其中月余，读多看广，终有心得。对于学生F1签证有了比较系统而准确的认
识，希望这篇签证分析和心理能对各位F1飞友的最后一战有所帮助。
读徐小平老师签证哲学，发现它的涵盖面积太大，对于很多F1的朋友好像太多了，大家也
没有时间去细细研读（所以叫哲学吗）。所以，在下就想写一些速成适用的法门，供大家
实用。本文叫签证心理决非附会，实际上签证的过程就是你揣摩签证官心理，将他说服的
过程。难怪有一个7签而过的朋友说到美国后要从农学改行心理学。
一、 签证准备的重点
签证材料内容的准备要紧紧围绕三个重点，这三个重点也是美国移民法句签的理由。所以
，签证过程的本质就是你将他们假设到你身上的三个可疑点一一推翻的过程。当然，这三
个点出场会以不同的问题形式在不同的时间出现，但是本质上都是这三点。这些问题或直
接，或间接，或干脆就不着边际，签证官也是在揣摩你的心理，将你的阵脚打乱，然后楸
出你的漏洞。
1、 你是否是个真的学生？
这里主要考虑你的学习动机。你去美国是读书吗？这个读书的过程或者结果对你是否必要
？是否重要？是否对你未来在中国的发展有帮助？等等
在这里，签证官的会从你的专业，目前的工作，学术背景，生活背景等方面进行考虑。比
如，你是学习二胡的，那在他看来你到美国的学习可能就意义不大。对于换专业来讲，也
是有些问题的，所以也要在这里多想一想，找出合情合理的学习动机。
2、 学习完毕，你是否会回国？
这里主要考察你的回国计划。你的回国计划直接决定了你是否会在学业完成之后离开美国
，不会和那些愚蠢的鬼子抢饭碗。
如果你所学的东西在中国会有很广阔的前景，而在美国相对来讲会黯淡一些，那么你回国
的可能性就大了许多。当然，不能胡诌，天花乱坠，为什么不让跨区签证？一个地方签证
官对他所管的区域是比较了解的，放卫星的事情好像美国人不会干。
3、 财力问题。
这一块也是很重要的，它在考察投入产出比。
如果你为了上学东拼西凑，负债累累谁都不会相信你毕业会回来，你如何还这部钱？别告
诉签证官毕业后你会在中国拿到100万以上的年薪，他们都中国很了解，也知道美国的大学
，不会相信你所说的，否则他们也去上那个学校了。
平常的F1都是有奖的，要么全奖要么半奖，所以，给签证官的感觉是他们"求"我去上的而
且给我出了钱，我没有什么付出。所以这里纠缠的会少了很多。
但是对于全自费，问题相对就多了很多，除非你开具雄厚的来自直系亲属的财力证明，而
且上的是牛校，否则，真的很难。当然，也有过的。
4、 其它问题
其它问题枝枝杈杈，难以概括。但是最终都是要考察的三点，当然也顺带考察了其他的方
面。
这部分的准备也要重视，冷不丁在这里能将签证官搞定。
二、 签证材料准备的注意事项
签证材料的准备至关重要，它很大程度决定了你是否成功。你的信心、面试时可信程度，
灵活应变的能力等等，都与你的准备有关，很多时候他能起到峰回路转，起死回升的功效
（狗皮膏药？）。
签证材料的分两部分一是问题答案（第三部分给出问题），另外是支持性材料，包括成绩
单，offer letter，书信，成绩单等等。这两部分能紧密结合，互为支持才能收到好的效
果。下面主要说的是第二部分准备时要注意的。
当然，要承认有运气的因素存在，但是我个人感觉材料的准备非常的重要，不打无准备之
战吗！
1、 合理性。
在准备上面三个部分内容对策时，一定要和自己的具体情况联系起来，不能做空中楼阁。

比如，你现在上班了，薪水不菲，你说自己回来会回学校当老师，这个就不是很有说服力
，不能让签证官从心理上接受。
每年都有数以万计的中国学生申请签证，所以能想到的理由都已经被别人想到，一般情况
下是不会有新奇的内容，何况都是学生出身，经历大都很单纯。所以，这个不需标新立异
，重要的是一定要合理。
最好是将自己的动机和计划和别人多多讨论，让别人找出不可信甚至时荒谬的地方。
2、 完备性。
心理上把签证当回事情，就象你要考GT时一样，想一想自己已经付出了那么多，辛勤耕耘
了一年或者几年，就要收获了，一定要把握好。从战略上重视吗。
所有对你有关，有用的，有害的都要考虑到，广泛一些，完备一些。对找出相应问题的对
策。很多东西一不留神就成为救你的稻草，或杀你的刀子。
将它们做成材料带去签证，自己告诉自己，有这么多东西都在支持我，我没理由不过的。

3、可证实性。
空口无凭，你说你能回到以前的单位，ok， 请出示supporting letter或者其他材料。
所有你说的最好都要得到文字上的证明，否则没有说服力。尤其是大多F1的口语又不是很
好，啃啃巴巴，老外听也未必能听清楚，那就材料在你自己陈述时，将相关的文字资料展
示，以助说服力，而且也说明你是严谨的考虑了自己的现在和未来。
4、具体性。
切忌空、大、泛，这是很重要的一点。材料和陈述要具体到人，事，地点，数字，这样有
说服力，增加可信程度。老外认这个东西。他们从小接受的训练就很实际，不像我们爱叫
口号。
比如，你说你们的单位得到投资，不要说得到很多很多投资，一定要说xx在xx年给我们投
资xxx。大家也都知道这样更有说服力，否则就会让签证官感觉你是在搪塞它。
5、实际性。
这里的一个中心思想就是"我所做得一切都是为我自己活得更好"。
中国人的心理羞于利私，但是美国人却是实际的多，他们崇尚个人利益。我们先不论是非
，我们是想得到签证，所以要揣摩的美国人的心理，要说服的是美国人。在这个时候我们
先将我们敬爱的祖国，亲爱的父母放在心里面，把自己挂在口头上。
在美国人看来，回国能做100万的贡献和自己的薪水能长到1万两个回国理由中，后者更有
说服力。其实，能做100万的贡献，一般说来薪水也都会1万，但是要对不同的人说不同的
话。
6、自然性。
材料中还可以带一些生活中的照片、你所参与的活动等等，让材料看来人性化一点。 美国
人都很注意自己的生活质量，对于热爱生活的人他们认为也更有激情工作。说不定你们还
能在这方面找到共同点，你的visa就ok了。
7、条理性。
在准备陈述内容时条理不能乱，逻辑性要强。
在回答问题时很少有签证官能耐心的听你说一大堆，然后替你想你要告诉他什么。 在准备
的时候，一定要用最短的句子有条理的涵盖你要提供的最大信息。别浪费你宝贵的时间。

每个签证官每天都要签将近100人，对说的顺的都有点烦，遇到夹杂不清的人，绝对不爽。

8、熟背你的材料
上去会很紧张，背会了就不用再费脑子组织句子，专心和签证官挑战心理就行了。就是装
作是现场组织的也要以熟悉自己的材料为基础，才能变化万千而不离其宗啊。
三、 签证问题
很多人问25问需要更改吗？回答是否定的，其实25问是根据前面所说的3条问出，美国移民
法不变，25问的框架就不用变。但是近期关于问题的问法有了变化，这个时候就要留意了
，看看他是想问那个方面的问题。对于马上就要签的朋友，请参考签经中最新的问法。
在下将问题分类给出，并没有给出答案，请参照第二部分和下面的注意事项组织适合自己
的答案，如果能按照自己的理解归类整理是最好不过了。在组织答案的过程中要本着薄-厚
-薄的过程，在下LP聪慧美丽，冰雪聪明，她说"到最后要记的就是关键词了"，实在是一针
见血啊，在下佩服的紧。
请在组织答案的时候注意：
1、 简短有力。
2、 逻辑性强。
3、 前后一致，避免漏洞。
4、 和材料紧密结合（参考第二部分）。
5、 先背熟，再忘掉（以无招胜有招）。
6、 多找一些对练 对练。
About the major and speciality.
1. What will you study in the United States?
2. What is your major? In what aspect of your major will you study?
3. Are you going to study in the USA?
4. What do you want to study in USA?
5. What's the difference between your major now and the major in USA?
6. Why do you like your major?
7. What is your academic background?/Say something about your major/research?
About the current personal data.
1. When/where did you get your BS/MS?
2. What/where are you studying now?
3. What is the difficult class do you have?
4. What is your current project in your company?
5. Why did you apply the universities when you graduated?
About the financial problem
1. What is your mother/father?
2. Have you got any scholarship?
3. Why do you receive financial aid from this Univ.?
4. How will you get support next year?
5. Why would you parents support you?
About the future university
1. How do you know this Univ.?
2. Why do you choose this Univ.?
3. How many did you apply?
4. How many give you the offers?
About the future plan and work.
1. How long will you study in the USA?
2. What do you do with your work for BS/MS/PhD?
3. What will you do in the USA?
4. What is your purpose for the visa?
5. What is your plan? What will you do after graduation?
6. Give me three reasons that you will come back to China?
7. Can you explain why 90% Chinese students didn't come back?
8. Why not stay in the United State?
9. Do you know that your major is very good(really a "hot" major) in U.S?
10. Why not pursuing a good job in U.S when you graduate as the opportunities
will be very good there?

About the necessity of study in the US
1. Why do you want to study in the USA? / why not study in China?/ Why not app
ly the universities in China?/ Why not apply the universities in China?
2. Why do you want to pursue a doctor's degree? /Why are you going to end your
wonderful life here to go to U.S, as we can see your job and living are both
perfect? /Please tell me whether what you will study in U.S can help you in Ch
ina?
3. Why are you going to study in this field since you are already a xxx in thi
s field?/ Why you come back to study?/Why you want to study since you worked?


四、 签证现场对策
这部分除了临场的表现和发挥，不得不承认有很大运气的成分存在，但是运气占多大的成
分，我们无从知晓，也无法控制。所以一定要在材料准备、临场的表达和表现上让自己做
的最好，机遇也是偏爱有准备的人，另外，还可以在不利的情况下扭转战局。
这部分大家可以根据最近的签经进行总结和了解，但是有几点却是不变的。
1、 自信
还是美国人的心理，他们尊重有自信的人。自信不是要盛气凌人，是一种平和和稳重的态
度。和签证官对话时，莫要觉得你是在求他，以一种交流的语气和它谈话。畏畏缩缩，紧
紧张张也不好，你也给签证官一种紧张、抵触的感觉，
当然，这是建立在坚固的背景和充分的准备上的。
2、 自然大方
这点也很重要。
穿奇装异服或者特别的标新立异等于是在赌博，危险性比较大。
我就见过一个打扮的象鹦鹉一样的女的很快悲剧。
3、 心态端正
"全当丢了500元，下回再来"这中心态也很好。因为签证中运气的成分是在很大，不过并不
表示没有实力。这样想开了，有助于自然发挥，或者在失败后全力以赴下次再战。
五、 其它的问题
1、 硬伤问题
有些关于硬伤的问题说法并不是很准确。很多情况下，所谓的硬伤就是能引起话题的东西
，言多必有失，容易被人抓住把柄，但是如果利用的好，反而成为你的亮点和优势。
比如，曾经工作过。如果你的工作单位不错，工作和专业对口，薪水不菲。这对于你的签
证绝对是个支持。不论是学习动机和还是回国计划都是很好说的。如果在这个方面加以利
用，那么主动权就在你的手中，签证获得的可能行就很大。
所谓的无硬伤，大多是刚从学校出来，立刻就拿到全奖走人。这些人的背景单纯，对于签
证官来说，实在没有多少话题可问，也就少了纰漏。如果签证官的心情不错就过，不好也
就拒了。实在也分析不出什么据签理由，相对于上面的情况更多的是个运气，而自己可控
制的不多。
所以如果有目前的所说的硬伤绝对不能气馁，一定想法加以利用，争取更大主动。其实，
如果利用的好，获得签证的可能性要比无硬伤的要多。
2、 财产问题
目前全奖/半奖/自费之间的差距正在逐步减小。其实，半奖和全奖的差别基本消失。不象
前两年，签证官知道中国人没钱，开的证明也都是东拼西凑。现在中国人有钱的多了，只
要不是数目大的惊人，一般是不会再这上面多纠缠的。重要的还是学习动机和归国计划。

对于全自费来说，最好选个好学校，这样过的机会会大得多。

准备好签证问题和所有材料，基本上准备工作就结束了。最后昨天偶去签证的时候，总共带了三个文件袋的资料，清单如下：

1. I-20表格

WoshenVISA上海签证之一：准备程序（感谢主，6月3日梅龙镇一签痴痴的过）

（以下是WoshenVISA的准备过程中的一些经验教训，希望对大家有点帮助）

一、签证之前要提前很久准备的事情：
1.存款（不是存款证明）
为了证明你赴美学习的财力背景。建议提前1年存入，或是每月存入一定数额。因为银行的证明绝对比单位开列的收入证明有权威性；至于提前一年存入，是因为近期签经里有半年前存入款项而被要求解释的例子。希望这件事大家可以广而告之，就象上GRE班之前就要看过一到两遍红宝书（或是其他GRE单词书）一样，省得到时候措手不及，心生暗悔。

2.论文
为了证明你赴美学习的学术背景。最近签经中凡是是研究生毕业，论文是必看的；我就是直接带了本7、80页的硕士论文交给签证官的。其实，除了考G考T之外，论文也是研究生该做的事。（怎么听起来有点怪怪的？有点主次不分？）


二、签证之前要提前一、两周做的事情——预约：
1.预约只能通过电话进行，电话号码可上到美国大使馆主页去查，还有些拍照的要求、签证费的交法之类，均可在那里查到，只有这里的才是权威的。中英文双语，不想折磨自己的话就看中文的吧。

2.只要有护照就可以预约了，不需I-20表格和签证费的收据（签证时才需要）。如果能和学校联系好，估计出I-20到达的大致时间，提前预约可以省掉不少等待的时间：因为F1签证高峰期只能预约到两周之后，也太长了点吧！当然，求保险的人还是等I-20到了才预约，因为据说有些I-20表格居然在路上走了两个月时间，难以置信啊。我是等I-20到了才预约的（上海，七天之后），还有点担心错过最佳机会，因为当时上海的形势简直是好的不得了啊。所幸就是现在也还算早签的了。

3.预约时一定要把姓名（报拼音字母）、生日、护照号和工作人员复核一遍。接受预约的是中国人，也比较耐心，所以一定要核实，以免出错。上海预约时是没有预约号的（北京是不是有啊？），到时候拿着护照核对一下就可以了。

4.预约时告诉你的日期要记好，而具体几点钟的时间毫无意义，早到早进早签，没人问你的，迟到也没有什么影响。


三、签证之前要提前几天做的事情：
1、拍照
只要和摄影师说是拍美国签证照，他们就都会明白是50x50mm的照片。有一点要说明一下，照相馆里的“关于新版美国签证照的要求”一般都是从报纸上裁下的，其中“不得以白色为背景”绝对是错误的（新浪网上也一样），而美国大使馆网页明确写着“白色或浅色背景的彩色或黑白照片, 照片无边框”；当然，一般照相馆会用浅蓝色背景，也是可以的。

2、签证费
到当地的中信实业银行去交，工作人员会问你是否F-1签证，然后交给你收据（两张，签证当天都必须带上）和DS156、157、158表，不必去理睬DS158表右上角的“Expires：01/31/03”字样，完全可用。

3、DS表
所有的项目都要填上。一些你目前没有的项目如“配偶姓名”等也必须填“无”（中文）、“N/A”（英文）或划“/”（中英文均可），如DS156的第37项，无论是否有其中所列的亲属，只要现在不在美国，一律在“不在美国”前的小方框里划“X”——我当时交表时就因为此处空着被勒令补上，一怒之下我连第40项都填满了“无”（中文）、“N/A”（英文）；还有第6、7项的中文电码，我在英文版的相应位置也填上了，没有问题；此外DS157的第12项“上两任雇主的名称”位置太短，我填的时候大量越界，都到了“地址”的下面，也没问题。
DS156贴照片之处：照片最好将白边剪去，留下50x50mm的正图部分再贴，出点边线是没问题的。但是如果是自己打印在A4纸上的DS表，比中信实业银行领来可能会小一点。
DS表的修改：错误是在所难免的嘛，使用涂改液毫无问题（我刚开始填的时候心不在焉的，才填到第5项就出错了，公然把自己的护照有效期多延伸了1年，想想可能党和人民都不会同意的，只好涂改了）。建议签证当天带上涂改液、笔和胶水，以防万一（我没注意到签证大厅里是否有）。

4、买文件夹
不少签经里说必须带透明的文件夹，好象上海没那么严格，在签证大厅里看到不少人拎着硬质的不透明纸袋走来走去——因为只是规定了手提包是不能带进去的（当然，还有手机之类，我干脆就放在家里了）。为了保险起见，我买了全套透明的文件袋：最外面是一个短边带系绳、其余三边有折边的文件袋，容量足够装下所有教厚的证书、论文、发表文章的杂志；里面放了几个“富得快E310”双页文件夹，就是那种两边封闭、两边开放的，把较薄的只有几页纸的文件分门别类放到各个文件夹里即可，这样就能很快找到要找的文件。
我分了六类：
1.必交文件（护照、收据、I-20、DS表）、
2.学校文件（录取信、offer信、来往Email、学校排名网页、专业介绍网页）
3.个人文件（本科、硕士成绩单、GT成绩单、简历、PS）
4.财力和工作及收入证明（还包括了名片、存折）
5.未来导师的文件（介绍、网页、论文等等）
6.其他（申请时的推荐信、研究时的照片等等，还有一张“平安搬场运输公司的优惠券”，和I-20表格一起到的，好兆头啊，带上！^_^）

5、练对眼
中国人含蓄啊，说话的时候很少紧盯住对方的眼睛不放的，常常是“王顾左右而言他”；可是签证当天我看那些签证官说话时都是眼球突出、紧盯对方（8号窗大glass boy尤其明显），颇给人以一种“我在认真和你交流，而且我足够真诚”的感觉。羞涩的孩子们多练练对眼吧，看镜子是不够的，一定要找人，同时要面带微笑，还能保持语言的能力。如果在几天之后，各大校园里出现了一批面带暧昧笑容、目光炯炯专盯陌生人看，状如花痴的同学们，那一定是拜我此文所赐了：）

需要说的是，大家不能仅仅局限于这些问题，每个人的情况有所不同，签证官很善于抓
你自己的弱点（软肋），进行突破。所以，大家要清楚自己的弱点，就是什么会让VO认

为你不会回来或者你不应当去。水木精华区里面的签证25问，50问很多都有参考答案，
但是我个人强烈建议大家不要去过多依赖于这类东东，更不要去背。我觉得，其中回答
大多过于笼统，缺乏个性。VO每天签n多人，他们最烦的就莫过于你背那些已经被听烦了
的答案。你最好结合自己的特殊点，比如你的专业，你的特殊背景，甚至你的爱好等等
。只有你做到让他觉得你的确是对自己所说负责，并且也很清楚自己的purpose时，你才
更容易过关。
以上包括108问的说有问题基本上概括了签证问题的主流。准备好这些毫无疑问将对我们
未来的签证有很大帮助。切记不要死记硬背，不要长篇雷牍，更不要夸夸其谈。尽量做到
简练，明确，自然，合理。

"21st century is the century of biological sciences" and my major booming i

rapidly). The biological biomedical company and institution are all well fu
nded, because of the
recognition from the government.

They appreciate my work and welcome me back to work with them. I can easily
find such position because
the companies are in great need of persons with bio-technology from abroad.
If I can't find such position, I can do research in the national key lab in
Peking u, my advisor is the director
now andhe promised to provide a position when i come back. considering new b
uilding for college of life sciences
has began to build, many new lab will be set up in the coming five years and
i can surely find one good position
in them.
其实是准备了三个计划，感觉第一个最有利，就先说了，结果后两个都没用上。
如果被问及salary，准备说  10,000 one month, and i have extra research fund f
rom XXXX, then say why
如果被问及有没有support letter, 就说the professor can be trusted. or i don;t
need a contract. 或者说出别的选择。
所以建议，如果没有support letter就多准备几个计划，一定不能说 I have no suppo
rt letter. （我哥们惨痛的教训呀！！）
专业解释就不说了，偶是从学校寄来的材料里面选择了一段介绍改写一下。

有的时候换个位置想，你可以看到自己答案中更多的漏洞
你就假想自己就是秃头，就是巴妹，就是杀手吧
这样还可以对vo的感觉不那么敌对
比如，我就几个问题追问过自己：
为什么去那里学习：
1. 为什么不到其他国家
我说，英国和德国的研究也还不错，但是英国难拿奖学金，我不懂德语
2. 为什么不在自己学校读
我说我原来没考虑出国（我的GT都是去年刚考的），正是读研期间发现这边的研究欠缺
我导师从美国回来的，鼓励我...
3. 那么你导师这么好，为什么不跟着他读
一个人不能带回所有先进的知识和方法，大的氛围和课题都不够好
我非常清楚，自己要在最好的学校拿phd

为什么不在美国工作
1. 为什么
中国的发展等等
2. 美国可以提供更好的条件
中国我有更多的人来帮助，获得好的。。。。
3. 美国人际关系简单，对研究有利
我熟悉这里的文化，我的人机关系很好，对我不成问题
强调我想做的东西，只能在中国实现

什么才是Strong Tie? 老天才知道！

作为一个普通人，没有家族几十亿的财产等着你经营，怎么搞出一个Strong Tie?
把我们考GRE的逻辑排上场吧。

Strong Tie说到底，就是中国有，美国没有，而且不能从中国搬到美国的东西。

很多签经上说过了，说中国大形势好太虚了，人家美国形势就不好？今年不好明
年也会复苏阿，美国经济再低迷工资也比中国高阿，如果你是牛人还怕在美国找
不到工作？不是牛人你就没有资格去读phd啦……所以，我总结出2点：

1。大形势对于你个人是没有意义的（就像签证一样，sigh）。
2。一旦涉及money，中国和美国是没有可比之处的。

所以，你的回国理由只有避开了这2点，才能成为你的Strong Ties。
我大致回忆一下，我听说过的几种难以让VO反驳的Strong Ties是：

1。你在美国很难混饭吃，只好回中国；仅仅说你在中国会比在美国更好吃饭是没
有说服力的，VO只会用0，1的二进制方法作选择，没有过渡状态。举个例子：

     我研究AAA的XXX技术，
     并且要把XXX技术用于YYY领域。
     美国没有人需要AAA，YYY领域根本就不会在美国出现。
     美国诸多跨国公司为了占领中国市场，争着招募YYY领域的人才。

     再补充就是
     你的导师是XXX的大牛，他的研究刚刚进入YYY领域，急需我这样的人才。

     大家也许觉得很抽象，我发挥想象力替换一下吧：
     AAA=汉字，XXX=手写识别，YYY=唐代书法研究与分析
     是不是有点像GRE逻辑？我GRE逻辑不好，好不容易凑了这个模板，呵呵。

     一个朋友是医学的，他说要研究某种病的基因，而这种病在美国很少见，但
     是在中国发病人口数量很多，而且给他写sl的医院拥有这个病的血样的最大
     的样本库，所以要做好这个研究，必须回到这个医院才有前景。非常
     convincing，呵呵。（当然要首先让VO觉得你真的打算一辈子都研究这个才
     行，而且那个医院也给你decent pay）

2。你的专业是敏感专业，这样导致被check，但是最后还是全过的。

敏感专业就是VO担心你回中国来发展对美国有威胁的技术。其实这个tie和上一条
是一致的，因为美国根本不会让外国人在美国的军事机构或者高级科研机构里面
任职，敏感专业的人很难晋身美国的该专业的领域，就只好回国享受中国政府的
巨额国防投入了。所以，觉得自己被拒概率很大的朋友不妨把自己的specialty说
得敏感一些，争取被check。

3。你回国可以得到在美国无法取得的巨额财产（有这个背景的牛人很少，但是只
要家里有点家族产业的都可以制作一些证据夸大一下）

4。理想是以某人为榜样

如果老爸老妈是回国的phd，也许比较有说服力。说导师是回国的phd，在二级杀
手手下算是说得过去，是否pass就看你其他理由的说法；一级杀手眼里没有意义
，是否pass就看天意了。

这个理由和support letter一样，少人用的时候VO觉得很新鲜；既然大家都用了
，我就不要跟着别人了，毕竟现在被拒的占大部分。

5。你要得到一个东西，只要你回国，在任何情况下，这个东西都可以实现；如果
你在美国，在任何情况下，这个东西都不能实现。

最后这个，就是我设计回国计划的基点。
