some input from Berlin so far:
* EIT does have a COMMUNITY. It is really important and feels warm. I even have more interaction with my fellow students than I did back in college in China. ( of course you can choose to stay in your comfort zone and don't get in touch with anybody except your fellowmen, if that is what you want.) Chinese students in ordinary local programs would envy you for your network if you make good use out of EIT community, believe me on this.

*the compulsory  I & E Module at TU Berlin is great (the lecture part is kinda boring but the business challenge part is really interesting and challenging), given that you have successfully chosen the start-up that you are interested in and the start-up company takes your group seriously, too.(they usually do because they are the ones bringing up all those challenging topics of their interests) I heard that one of the start-ups actually flew the whole team (5 people maybe) to Frankfurt for a conference or something this morning.

( I'm sure there are students who really don't give a f**k about this module, thinking that this I&E part is irrelevant to what they are majoring in. Well, fair enough. But by doing so they loose all the fun of team work and idea generation process, which to me are valuable learning and communication opportunities. Many European students join EIT programs because they do wanna learn something about entrepreneurship. Some of them are actually running their own business and hope this education can help them promote their business.)

*courses are not easy. NOBODY has an easy ride. And we take class with students from regular programs all the time-- only difference is that we are EIT students and we have a community of our own.

*Berlin is in general very international and friendly. German is certainly a plus, but definitely not a must (for daily life). Also, Berlin is SAFER than many other cities in Germany.

*By far NO ONE graduates on time from TU Berlin as an ES second year student. Generally there's a 4-month delay, mainly because school starts much later in Germany. Also, students don't always find suitable internship qualified for both internship requirement and thesis writing, which means they'll have to do this two parts separately, and it takes longer time.

*As an Embedded System student, If you exit from TUE, you don't need to look for internship yourself. TUE would provide you with a list of available internship opportunities. All you need to do is choose one you are interested in. But this is the situation only in TUE. As far as I know, anywhere else you need to look for an internship yourself. But usually it is not difficult to find one.

*another tip:
be ready to work/study as if u don't need no sleep...................
(unless you are REALLY good at what you're doing)

目前觉得幸好EIT还必须修一些I&E的课程……读读I&E的paper或者做些business challenge要求的research真的是专业课学习期间最好的调剂----比如明天早上要小测验，但是今天晚上实在不想再继续复习的我花了四个多小时做startup challenge的research………（当然，我选到的challenge刚好是我比较感兴趣的东西）

求问版主，我的背景是211大学，均分83/3.46，信管专业，工作一年，雅思6.5（口语5.5），想要申请HCID。因为我对这些学校基本都不太了解，我想问一下以我的背景申请哪个学校进，哪个学校出会拿到奖的概率大一点？还是拿不到奖....我不考虑国外工作，打算毕业回国的。

版主妹妹还没出现，我看到了就先说两句吧。。。
首先版主去年申请的是ES，而我是DMT，对HCID估计都不甚了解
另外楼主的背景。。不是很亮眼，GPA不算高，雅思也不高，而且你要多看看学校的要求，防止你小分不够要求
拿奖的话可能性不太大

那你选eit真是选对了。。。最怕的就是当初冲着eit两年换学校和双学位的好处来的，来了以后抱怨各种商学课程安排（翻白眼）

加油吧，只要是自己花了时间学的，在今后也会多很多选择
