Multiple Ph.D Research Assistantships in Computer Engineering at VCU

Multiple research assistantships are available in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). These RAs, starting in Fall 2016, can support highly motivated Ph.D applicants to conduct research with Dr. Wei Zhang, a tenured full professor and Director of Computer Engineering at VCU.  The research will be in the fields of graphics processing units (GPUs), computer architectures, compiler, real-time and embedded systems.

Qualification: Applicants should have a M.S or B.S degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline. Excellent programming skill in C/C++ or Java is a must (CUDA or OpenCL is a plus). Research background or deep understanding in computer architecture, compiler, security, and/or real-time and embedded systems is highly preferred. Preference will be given to Ph.D. students who have had M.S research experience, publication, or relevant industrial experience and have strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
