Day7-9
好吧,首先承认我偷了个懒,因为忙科研没有上来打卡...
被老板否决了n个idea之后,终于有一个可以拿来试试看了,也算是有进展。然而 still too far away from a paper...
最近几天主要是完成了以下内容:
大三千背到List20,抄下来的单词记忆率已经达到70%-80%,虽然每天仍在更新中...
看了Magoosh 数学几个part的视频,学到了不少的技巧。
Magoosh Verbal Video 10个
Listening:BBC Global News, TED Radio Hour, CNN Students News,CNN是精听的
看了一堆美剧以培养口语语感(不要为看剧找借口...
口语一直是训练重点,接下来总结一下我做了什么,以及经验:
再看了一遍绿版和Robin大神的经验,听了绿版的T1T2录音
刚开始时试着自己放慢速度说一个topic,虽然额很多,但是以发音清晰,用词准确为目标
Then, I submerge myself into English. 具体做法是两个:狂听英语新闻、美剧,以及用英文进行思考,包括阅读时有意识把所读内容转换成英语口语表达。我认为这是最重要的方法,帮助我在短时间内迅速提升了口语反应速度和表达丰富程度(因为想的东西可能会包括一些自己使用在写作中,又不算太书面,且一开始想不到的词汇
进入了狂听听力模式。但是我没有采用使用比较广泛的听力材料,比如SSS,因为曾经试过精听,效果不是很好,还不如直接听Science Talk.
所以我选择的听力材料还是BBC, CNN Students News, TED Radio Hour。
Day10有利用一系列美国大选演讲视频,一边练听力,一边扩充口语
今天录了两个口语题,看看晚些时候能不能发上来...
我找到了上一次口语被判fair 的两个部分,把官方给的缺陷列一下: Speaking about campus situations
however, some details are missing or inaccurate.
Limitations of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation at times cause difficulty for the listener.
Speaking about academic course content
However, some problems with pronunciation and intonation may occasionally cause difficulty for the listener.
Your use of grammar and vocabulary is adequate to talk about the topics, but some ideas are not fully developed or are inaccurate.
Day19-20
It has become hard for me to update...
拖延症害死人啊。。。
现在保持听力,单词和口语,没有其他英语的item继续进行
浏览了一些学校网站,看了一下老师的CV
接下来放一下我的Verbal Notes: Steps for text completion
1 Look for clues
2 Match keywords
blanks in GRE text compeletion parts is difinate, and the words filled in them can not be the ones that could be in the blanks
3Eliminate: do not afraid to pick the words you don't know
/
1 Break down the long sentences into your words
Fill the blank with your own words first
2 Find the scattered clues
3 Own words
4 Match: can not always be perfect match
tips:Ignore the names, facts and figures
Shifts:
Recognizing the most common reverses like although, but, yet...
The function of comma in this kind of sentence is shift
Your own words need to be the opposite with the key words
Words relative to the comparison in times in a sentence are also shifts: Initially, once...
Always read the compelete sentence, and make sure you focus on all the key words
Pay attention to the sentence structure
For long paragraphs and multiple blanks:
Read the entire paragraph first
Attack the blank that is easist to deal with
Don't look at immediate context or jump to conclusions
Make sure to read the entire paragraph before thinking up words to fill the blank
Don't try to come up with an exact word but focus more on general connotations
