Ph.D. opening in Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University
Applications are invited for Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona. Funded by the National Institutes of Health, our research focuses on enhancing speech recognition and music perception with auditory prosthesis. Specifically, we are designing algorithms to better encode pitch cues for cochlear implant users with electrical stimulation. The Ph.D. candidate will receive academic training and conduct research in a multidisciplinary field that involves signal processing, psychoacoustics, auditory neuroscience, and computational modeling. Self-motivated students with strong background or interest in these areas are highly encouraged to apply.
