联系了一个化学系的教授，简单说了从网页上看到的他的研究，说了一下我的背景，附上了CV。然后下面是他的回复：

Thank you for writing me.  I will take a student in the Fall of 2017, and I would encourage you to apply.  I cannot promise that you will be chosen:  I admit only one student in most years, and depending on who applies, you may or may not be the strongest applicant.

I would caution you that the types of research I do (focusing on developing methods, ergo mathematical analysis and computer programming) is different from most of what you have seen, based on your CV.  My experience is that physicists and engineers have better training in these topics, however, so you may find my research a good fit for your skills, provided your interests are also aligned in this direction.

他真正研究的东西貌似和我之前理解的不太一样。。。可是他已经回复了的话，我应该再联系同一个系的别的导师吗？回复这个教授的话，表示感谢，还要跟他说自己准备申请，递交以后再联系吗？

这个信的第一段说白了就是一个模板回复，对所有大概看得上的学生都是一样的，都叫你申请，然后他自己最后再选一个，广撒网重点捕捞呗。
