This summer, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, one of the top public universities in the US (#27 according to a recent U.S. News & World Report ranking) is launching a new E.C.E. master's degree that will enable you to move back to Shanghai and start your career while earning a master’s in electrical and computer engineering from UMass Amherst. In addition, you can graduate in less than two years at a lower cost than if you got the same degree on campus in the U.S.

This entirely new approach to getting your master’s in E.C.E. from UMass Amherst is called the Field Degree. The Field Degree program is specifically designed for graduating seniors majoring in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering that don’t want to put their career on hold but also want an M.S. in E.C.E. from an elite US university.

•        18-month intensive program (instead of 24 months)
•        Dual campus: UMass Amherst and Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, with all classes taught by UMass Amherst faculty
•        A diploma and transcript from UMass Amherst for a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (exactly the same as for students that complete the degree in the US residential program)
•        Exclusive internship opportunities with international employers such as GE, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft
•        July 1, 2017 start date (June 1, 2017 application deadline)
•        $45,000 USD tuition

The Field Degree program courses are held in the evening (Shanghai local) so professors can teach live from UMass Amherst and you can work during the day.  And unlike online and distance learning programs or traditional residential master’s programs, students progress through the Field Degree program together with live classes, office hours, and social and networking opportunities—just as you would with a traditional two–year M.S. program in the US—in just 18 months while advancing your career in China.

今年夏天，U.S, News全美公立大学排名27位的美国麻省大学阿默斯特分校将与上海交通大学合作将其ECE工程硕士项目落地中国上海，使得中国学生可以不必远赴美利坚，并在18个月内于上海完成学习，获得麻省大学阿默斯特分校颁发的ECE工程硕士学位。这一新的硕士项目特别为就读计算机科学、计算机工程、电机工程的专业的本科高年级学生准备，旨在帮助学生在获取由高质量美国大学颁发的硕士学位的同时利用课余时间积累工作经验。
