If the above data were correct, the total number of H1-B visa issued to Chinese F-1 students (LLM or JD graduates) would be much smaller than 2,502 in 2016. I know H1-B visas have been issued to Associates in BigLaw. It's just very rare (like a handful  a year in a HUGE firm).

On the other hand, the large number of visas issued to computer industry may suggest more F-1 students would get their green cards in that industry.  Some people on this board had reported that at least in Seattle some LLM or JD graduates found jobs in the legal industry. You can connect the dots . . .

Joining the army may not lead to green cards per current immigration directives. The door is closing.

Good source for data. Thanks. Conservatively speaking, 80% of LLM and JD students on F-1 visa may not stay in the U.S. after graduation. This is especially true for LLM students. Do not shoot the messenger.
