Please find information on the Finance PhD program at the Aalto University School of Business (formerly the Helsinki School of Economics), Finland below. The PhD program is intended for candidates of excellent academic background and intellectual ambition who are motivated in producing research of the highest international level and pursuing careers in the academic and business world.

We would like to welcome applications from the outstanding students at your university and I’m hoping that you would be able to help me forward this message to the relevant persons at your department/program.

Our program is a 4-year US-style program comprising of rigorous course work, research seminars & workshops and a PhD dissertation. All teaching in the PhD program is in English and there are no tuition fees. Funding will be available for the accepted doctoral candidates. All graduates of the Finance PhD program have received funding throughout their studies.

New students will be accepted once a year. The application period has just started and the deadline for applications is January 15, 2018.  

The ultimate test of any PhD program is its placement record. Here the track record of Aalto Finance PhDs is excellent. Our academic placements are London Business School, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Miami, Imperial College Business School, Catholic University of Lisbon and Luxembourg School of Finance. Hi!

Harrison Hong is currently a visiting professor at Aalto University Department of Finance. He usually teaches a PhD course in Behavioural Finance in the fall.
