阿姨这里转学怎么申请呀？要是要推荐信怎么办呢？总不好意思要现在的导师写吧。我老公学校今年就转走了了一个。不过他的老婆在那个学校里。

sorry for inputing in English because I can't input Chinese here.

of course you can tranfer to anather university now. I think the sooner, the better. because even you get a MS in this university, you have to start again the same way in another university, except that you may tranfer only a few credits and you get some experience in the original university. I think most American universities do not "accept" MS in another university, even an American university, or getting a MS or not does not make big differnce when you aim at PhD.

This is only my understanding. I just come here to American for a few weeks.

I also want to ask a question.

If I apply for a I-20 at the university A where I'm now registed and get the I-20 for F-2 soon( before Octomper, for example. Then I transfer to another university(B). Does this work? I mean, can F-2 use I-20 from university A to apply for visa the next year (in Aug,)?

you may ask your recommendators before to write RL again. it's may be difficult for you to get a RL from your American professor now. but it depends.

you must consider it fully, not just based on what I said.

My Chinese friend sugested me to transfer to another u. bcs he think my u. is not good. I discussed this with three American graduate students here and all of them say it depends on myself. they do not think the university from wchich you get PhD is the most important thing. the most important is your advisor is supportive, you get good training in most respects of research and you have a lot of good publications.
