Although innovations such as video, computers, and the Internet seem to offer schools improved methods for instructing students, these technologies all too often distract from real learning.

问题:什么是真正的real learning.(在我看来是关键词)
TS:对于每一个学生而言,真正的学习在于接受有效知识的学习和学术精神的学习,而这些是那些技术创新的技术无法给予的,因此我认为会distract。

1。技术的革新使教育的多样化和广泛性得到了巨大的提高。
2。学者的学术精神(严谨,独立,怀疑的态度),这些要通过面对面的身传言教来让学生体会。
3。有用并且有效知识(不在多,在于精)技术无法帮我们筛选信息。

What is real learning? If the real learning only is regarded as the way receiving messages or knowledge, I have to agree with the attitude that innovations help students to concentrate energy in real learning and offer schools improved methods for teaching students. However, in my opinion, the real learning contains two aspects which are to advance academic sprits and to practice efficient skills.

Doubtless, video, computers and the Internet, rapid innovations bring a great deal of chances and change to the education. At first, the appearance of computers and Internet result in the breakthrough of teaching methods, which not merely exist in dummy classrooms, and more and more students can have classes through the Internet. For example, UMUC offer some traditional courses, so called "face to face" course, but it is famous for leading online education role. The university provides 29 general degrees that include commerce and computer and has an international student body of more than 72000 which the officials expect will triple in less than a decade. So it is true that students can learn more knowledge from different nations and universities/colleges contribute to the quick development of innovations.

However, it is doubt that more knowledge could stand for real learning. In my opinion, real learning not only includes the accumulation of knowledge, but contains the edification of spirit of scholars, because nicer academic spirit of students means that he/she has eligible mental outlook as a social person. Traditional methods of education can provide more possibilities of directly touching professors/teachers than online education. So the students who are in the way of face to face get more the edification of academic spirit. If the real learning can be achieved only by online education, the number of teachers ought to decrease each year for the extensive uses of innovations, but the fact is that the 70 percent of our nation's colleges and universities obviously increase the number of teachers, compared with 48% in last year.

Furthermore, Nowadays, It is problem that information and knowledge is so huge and complex that common students hardly efficiently absorb them. At least the up-to-date technologies still not solve the problem. For example, if one person want to check up some information from "Google" which is a famous search net, the person usually find thousands of choices or even more after imputing keywords. As a result, anxious ideas for shortage of information are replaced by worry for overrun of information, and we become more upset than before. Thus most of educators never believe that simple machines are able to bring real learning to students.

In sum, neither can we overstate the effects of new educational technologies, nor can we ignore their effects. However, since innovations cannot provide enough the education of academic spirit and usually bring overmuch information to us, I believe that videos, computers, Internet are often distract from real learning.

不知道大家对这个题目还有没有其他好的切入点,尤其对REAL THINKING该如何定义?

思路还可以,小语法错误很多,我没给你一一指出来, 我认为real learning就是指是否学到了知识吧,虽然多媒体使人们接触知识和学习的方式发生了变化,一方面可能有助于更快更好的理解知识,这是学到了real learning,另一方面,多媒体可能把人的注意力吸引到别的地方,比如只注意图画动画,忽略了知识的学习,那么就distract了

不好意思。昨天有事情,没办法仔细会pooh的批改。

However, in my opinion, the real learning contains two aspects which are to advance academic sprits and to practice efficient skills.你这里对real learning的表达不清楚,不要下两个定义,你同意哪个就是哪个,不要两边都想说着---这个地方我只是想强调real learning 包括两重含义和功能,这样我觉得会比较容易展开全文。换句话说,我只要论证新技术只能部分满足 real learning 的需要。我就可以破题了。 不知道这样可以不可以?

关于你的建议,很好。不过假如按照你这样的展开,似乎好像把注意力集中在多媒体的有缺点上了,对什么是真正的real learning 讨论可能会少了许多,不知道我的看法对不对。
