205. As societies all over the world have more and more access to new information, the effects on life-long learning can only be positive.
  全世界各个社会获得崭新信息的手段越来越多,这对于人们一生的学习来说是有益无害的。

立场:有保留地赞成。对于想在日益复杂和先进的社会中扮演重要角色的人来说,利用先进的信息手段制定和实施终身学习的计划非常重要和必要。但不应忽视海量信息对个人成长的负面作用。
Does the effect on lift-learning can only be positive when we have more and more methods to new information or knowledge, as the speaker asserts? I strongly agree with that we must plan to acquire new information throughout our lives, and developed science and technology are positive for it. Nevertheless, the speaker overlook that the mass of information can be negative and human may be confused when they directly face to the overloaded information.

First, due to the increasingly creative and extensive efforts of scientists and engineers, we tend to more and more easy and effective to acquired new knowledge or information. Nowadays, new information technology such as Internet, Television, Computer science, Broadcasting, Radio communication changed our learning manners. For example, if you want to be an expert on the field of gene. You can search in the internet keyword “gene”, and then you will find millions of information about it. This information introduced all about the gene, such as the structure of DNA, the new plans of human brain export, the function of a cell in gene etc. It is an unbelievable thing ten years ago.

And, as the society including technology and culture became more complicated, one who wants to be a key role in the society must be good at learning useful knowledge and information with these advanced methods throughout his whole life. Any successful doctor, lawyer, or entrepreneur would undoubtedly agree that new precedents and challenges in their fields compel them to acknowledge the limitations of their knowledge, and that learning to accommodate these limitations is just as important in professional success as knowledge itself. Anyway, we must keep the pace of the social advancement in anytime.

However, information overload can result in confusion, which in turn can diminish one’s ability to assimilate information and apply it useful, as our everyday experience and common sense lend credence to it. For instance, considering the forenamed circumstance, while a student who learning gene is facing the mass of information, he or she must search the useful information with difficulty, if he or she lack the basic knowledge about the gene or biology and the basic skill about analyzing or concluding with information. The student will be disappointed or even abandon his plan of learning gene. Additional, information is more uncontrolled, bad information wasted our time and maybe is harmful.  

In the final analysis, developing information reform changed our learning mode in recently years, and it is helpful and positive to life-long learning person. Thus, the statement is correct in this respect. However, the speaker overlooks the negative aspect of the easily getting information. We should be good at acquiring beneficial information, and govern should do something to restrain the worthless information.

思路挺清楚的

第四段是不是可以举一个其它的例子?一个例子证明两个相反的论点,感觉会互相weaken
