Most definitely, but not exactly Joe.

We should not separate a phenomenon from its historical backgrounds. Sometimes, admittedly, some of my countrymen do appear to have their so called 'superiority' because of their ignorance. Most of this group do not behavior themselves and unfortunately leave a disgusting impression among others. They are pathetic, aren't they?

However, it is unfair to take them as the representatives of Beijingers. They have neither the most distinctive characteristics of their locality nor the basic virtues of Chinese people. We are friendly and hospitable, just like all the peaceful peoples in China.

In addition, as to provincial discrimination, it unfortunately happens everywhere in this world. Whevever there's civilization, which therefore educates some of the local citizens, the ridiculus barriers between the place and its surrounding world come into being. This is a funny social phenomenon, which I am not an expert to talk about.

I have been to Beijing several times , and the pekinese disappointed me deeply every time !
I believe that u r right, my friend. The point i hold is somewhat partial and unfair to all the pekinese. But isn't it self-evident that there r great number of Chinese people strongly hold the same viewpoint as me? who knows!!
