Does the worldwide distribution of television programs and advertisements seriously diminishing the cultural differences? The speaker asserts so. In my view, this assertion has some merits but ignores the foundamental problem with the phenomina of the losing of cultural differences between nations.

Admittedly, the wide distribution of television programs and advertisments from major world TV stations are bringing the values and life styles of their country throughout the world and thereby greatly influence the life and ideology of people in other countries, especially young people. The major influence of television programs on culture is reflected through pop music. Consider for example, the pop music market of Japan is greatly influenced by the American and European styles. So does that of other Asian countries including China, Malysia and Singapore. Advertisements as well are speading the values and characteristics of dominating cultures. For example, French clothing brands are getting more and more popular in world countries and more and more people around the world are using Fedral Express for mail delivery. The life style, work ethic and ideology of France and America are being taken to world cultures through Louis Vuitton fasions and Fedex. That is why I agree with the speaker that world differences of cultures are being seriously diminished by wide distribution of TV programs and advertisements.

Notwithstanding the foregoing reasons supporting the speaker's claim, the view of the speaker is some what superficial in contending that it is the distribution of TV programs and ads that is playing the diminishing role to cultural diversity. I propose that the true driving force for the integrating of world cultures is the availability of physical contact between peoples of different cultures and social exchanges and communications. Consider for example, a high school student in Asia have no access of American or European pop music CDs, posters or pop star live shows . Even though such fasions are distributed through various TV programs, the life style of this student will not possibly be changed very much.

Another argument revealing the superficial nature of the speaker's assertion involves advertisements. A second study of the assertion would make one consider that what makes worldwide advertisement occur at the first place is the globalization of world market and the globalized goods and services. Consider for example, if there is no KFC shop in a African country. Then no matter how much KFC advertisement does an African child watch, he or she will not possibly be influenced by the American fast food culture. Another telling example is service industry. Airline companies, express services, financial institution all launch great amont of advertisements on TV programs and spreading certain ideas and values to the desination country. However, if such services are not well established in this country, it is not possible that the local culture is deprived of its own distinction.

In conclusion, I agree with the speaker insofar as the worldwide distribution of TV programs and advertisements is part of the apparent reason for the lost of cultural differences. But I would rather call such reason as superficial and the foundamental driving force for such phenomena lies in the fact of globalized economy and integrated world market of goods and services.

用word检查拼写的时候,它反应很慢,我还以为没错。就贴上来了,造成出现很多拼写错误,对不起大家,下次注意

另外b3的观点我的一点想法。我认为好的advertisement是一种文化或精神的浓缩。就象是nokia的以人为本,还有philips的“我们会做的更好”。广告最终要达到的效果是让人们对这种文化产生一种认同感,进而带动其产品的销售。所以我觉得kfc shop在非洲的建议只是让大家对已接受的广告得到第二次的显示强化。(当然之间也有联系)。同时广告也是现时流行的风向标,比如最直接的哪个明星当红,就会有它的代言。所以广告的全球播放使大家对于同一事物有相同的看法----同化。或者对于某些在部分地区有背传统的东西也在潜移默化中被改变。

谢谢楼上的同学!b2中主要是说各个国家人民和商业等等的实际接触是造成消除文化差异的根本原因,如果日本人看不到欧美流行音乐演唱会,买不到他们的cd或海报,那么电视上尽管播得很厉害,对他们也不会产生如此深入得影响。

我主要得担心是不知道这样写算不算跑题,因为有“他因”的嫌疑。撇开电视、广告谈商品市场全球化。

这个题目要从正面直接说电视广告没有真正意义上的影响文化间的差异是比较难写的。楼主b2&b3其实都是说的他因才是造成文化间差异的根本阿。
我现在也没想出来有什么更好的写法。
请多多指教。
