In age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books.
======================正文================
The speaker claims that reading books is not as important as it once was in the age of television, for the reason that people can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books. It is true that people can learn many things from television. However, in my view, reading books is still important in the age of television.
First of all, with the development of society, television enters average homes, by watching TV we can learn many things. For example, some cooking programs in television are so visual that it is easier for us to learn cook than before; we can learn the latest news occurred occuring at each corner of the world immediately and without going out of homes Moreover, many various many可以去掉courses of lectures, such as foreign languages, chess, painting and so on, are also available on television. Therefore, television has become one effective and convenient way for us to learn.
However, even though the importance of television is increasingly growing, it dose not mean the decline of importance of reading books in learning, since books have many particular advantages which television dose not have. First, the programs on television are arranged beforehand, and what the audience can do is to determine whether watch the programs建议换代词显得不重复改成them or not ; and electricity, the equipment for receiving signals are needed if you want watch television. In contrast, we can choose different books to readaccording to our interests and needs; second, we can read at any time and any place, as long as there is enough light. All of these tell us that we can learn much more from reading books, since the limits on books is reading areless. Furthermore, many television programs, the plays, the various lectures and so on, are based on books, then without books some of television programs will lose their solid fundament to survive.
In addition, books play a very important role in the progress of society and reading books is still a common and fundamental method for us to learn. It is known that As we all know,避免跟后面的it is that 重复 it is through books that the essence in each field-history, culture and science etc.-recorded and inherited from one generation to another. Therefore, books are the most significant documents for to learn or do research in any realm. Similarly, even now books fill our daily lives. When we are students, we mainly learn from books; when you try to address the problems in your work, for example, to understand how to operate a new machine, reading the illustration written in books is the most effective way. Consequently, reading books is an indispensable part of our lives and it is still the most effective way for learning.
To sum up, television and reading books are two different ways to learn and both of them have their unique advantages. They can coexist and should completely utilize the merit of each of them to serve our learning.
