3.However, it should be admitted that the positive effects of grades should not be neglected.

During a very long history, grades exist all the time as a criterion that people evaluate a person's level of learning. Today, grades yet play a very important role in educational system. For example, sometimes higher grades will help the students to enter a better college or university. So some people think that it is impossible that grades have limited the people's level of learning in various educational environments. But I don't think so. I agree with this viewpoint that grades have blocked to a certain extent people's quality of learning at all levels of education.

Firstly, as a criterion, grades have to compel people to learn some the same courses that are impossibly suitable for everyone. In order to fully understand this point, firstly we should know what a criterion is. In my observation, a criterion only is some established rules for those who do the same things. In this case, it is not curious that grades call for people to learn the same courses so that they can take part in the same examination. However, can such grades truly reflect a person's quality of learning? Obviously this is not entirely possible. Why? The reason for this is so simple: we can not think that the quality of learning of a great writer, such as Shakespeare, was worse than ones of a great mathematician, such as Gauss, only because Gauss's grade of mathematics was higher than Shakespeare's. We can see from discussed above the fact that higher grades are not mean higher quality of learning, while people have to spend a lot of time on those courses that they are not good at for higher grades. It is obvious that a student with talent in writing have to learning those disinteresting courses for him, which will limit his quality of learning.

Secondly, excessive requests for grades will lead to increasing mental and psychological stress for students, which will badly undermine their interest and passion of learning. As we all known, grades are very possibly effected by some accidental factors. For instance, those who mark the subject questions can give two very different scores for similar answers because of uncertain causes, such as personal taste and mood at that time. As for the objective questions, even if know nothing, people may guess an option. This phenomenon is very universal in College English Test Band 4 – a kind of examination that all students at all colleges or universities in China must pass for gaining bachelor’s degree – because sometimes guessing a right option will help you to pass this exam, whereas you have to take part in the next examination without any meaning. It is very clear that this exam brings students heavy stress as a result of the existence of this kind of accident. Just because of this, many students do not learn for improving their quality of learning, but for grades, which impossibly motivate their interest and passion of learning.

However, it should be admitted that the positive effects of grades should not be neglected. Generally speaking, grades always are linked to the various examinations. In order to get a good mark in all kinds of examinations, people have to try their best to learn various knowledge. Obviously, in the course of preparing for these examinations, people's ability of studying will be continually improved.

In a word, I hope it has been shown that people must learn those unsuitable and unchangeable courses and bear mental and psychological pressure in order to get higher grades, which limits improvement of people's quality of learning.

显然作者同意论点,      但是一开始好像都是说的是grades很重要, 最后表明了自己的观点,有点唐突.

criterion 的定义有点多余, 举的例子有点weird, 大意是Shakespeare和Gauss他们所擅长的不能互通, 但是我感觉这个和grades没有什么关系,  例子太牵强了

  此段第一句表明grades的需求会给学生更多压力,导致失去学习的兴趣.  先论证了grades会被偶然因素影响,   基本上是grades的坏处,  从论证中看不出为了得到grades,却失去了学习的兴趣.  例子还是不错,就是说的有点乱 . 最后一句和本段开始有重复之嫌

我们从中文翻译中很难看到"Competition"的意思, 但是我认为这篇需要论证competition的作用好坏., 毕竟追求grades的方式是competitions,  但是从通篇中很难发现Competitions的论证

至于competition的问题，我在写之前看了前辈们的提纲！
他们的提纲中也没提到competition，所以我就这么写了！
后来写完贴出来后，我自己也觉得有点问题！
顺便问一下，没写competition是不是跑题了？
