It is more important to allocate money for immediate, existing social problems than to spend it on long term research that might help future generation.

Idealists always wish we were living in a society without social problems such as sereve contagious diseases, irreversible environmental descruction and so on. However, pragmatists find that Utopian is very far from realistic society which is full of immediate and long-term problems. In my point of view, government should not argue which sort of problems need be solved with priority because the two sorts are of equal importance just like the two hands of human being.

Immediate, existing social problems, due to their urgent nature, should be solved as soon as possible. A case in point is the tsunami spreading over Southeast Asia, which caused hundreds of thousands of people out of home, losing their families and having nothing to eat. Under the serious situation, governments made the rescuing proceed in the first time. Billions of money were spent on building tempory houses, providing food and clothes and offering medicial care for the refugees to reduce the death.Thus, when spacious emergency and disaster occured, big amount of moeny should be used to make the stability of society.

While immediate problems have close relation with social stability, long-term research should not be overlooked. Enviornment problems, for example, might not cause serious result right now, but will lead to huge crisis for the future genernation. Beijing, which used to be a place circled with trees, lost its nature protection due to the recent exploraton and deconstruction. So, sandstorm and acid rains often come to Beijing. Sometimes, the air is so much pollated that no stars can be seen in the sky at night. If no means will be taken, I am afraid the tragedy of ancient Babylon will take place again. In order to solve this problem and give residence a clean surrounding, government invest much money to purify the rivers and regrow trees.

Thus, both immediate and long-term problems should be treated carefully. Immediate problems are like the acute illnesses, which should be cured as soon as possible. On the other hand, long-term problems, just as the chronic illnesses which can't cause secrious effect at once, will accumulate minor to deadly crusher. In sum, we should pay the same attention to the two sorts of problems because they will lead to the same influence on the society for both present and future.

可是，我觉得这篇文章的问题还是没有得到解决，语言上的问题是小，逻辑上的问题是大，我不太清楚我的这种写法是否属于跑题，套用追星剑上的一篇题目的说法，这个THE MORE的照应怎么样才能做足呢？

昨晚很晚才到你这篇issue，看得比较匆忙，到没注意到more的这个比较核心的问题。
我前两天也看了追星剑的那个more的写法，很重要的就是contrast是做足。
TOPIC:
the two sorts are of equal importance just like the two hands of human being.至少主题句对二者的重要性是做出的比较，而不是简单地判断(both two sorts are important)，这里应该是没有问题的。

我提个意见：文章第三段开头，
While immediate problems have close relation with social stability, long-term research should not be overlooked. 可以深入比较一下二者，比如提出一个judgment（人类共同的进步和繁荣）作为判断的依倨，然后深入比较一下the two sorts,，然后再得到immediate problems have close relationship with social stalbility, long-term reserach should not be overlooked.注意：long-term research，你的北京可能成为巴比伦的例子好像没有涉及到long-term research。
