"Those who treat politics and morality as though they were separate
realms fail to understand either the one or the other."
Politics and morality are both two essential realms in our society. Are there not any intersection between them, as the speaker claims? (题目就是在说道德和政治如果被分开看,就不能很好理解它们中的任何一个啊,再好好看看,是不是理解错了?)As I am concerned, politics and morality are interdependent each other, and it would be non-insightful to view them dividually.
First and foremost, almost every kind of politician activities is permeated with morality consciously or non-consciously. In the elections, for instance, honesty, a common virtue in the morality realm, is very essential for a significant and just result. Cheating, which against the morality, would result in scandals or even politician tragedy. So, we shall not feel incomprehensible when it comes to Watergate events, a politician scandal which is famous for using some unjustified methods in the election for president, and consequently leaded to the first abdication of president in the USA history. Beside election, some other sorts of political activities, such as legislation, diplomatism, protest against the government, have been always intersecting with morality. Why legislation, you may ask? As the Martin Luther King-a great pioneer struggling for freedom and equality-said, a just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law. For the purpose of harmony of the society, it is only through legislation that all the people of a common community obey the same and also man-made moral standard-laws. Likewise, when it comes to diplomation, the morality still plays an important role. Why the people of around the world would denounce the nation invading other countries? Because it breaks the present morality of all mankind adhering to, equality and respect each other. Moreover, why, you may wonder, the protest against the government for some reasons, such as high tax, high unemployment rate, severe environment damage, often works well in the democratic society. Simply and obviously, the reason is the government's policy or administrating go against the morality, the principles and standards of human conduct and behavior. Anyhow, I would be hard-pressed to think of any sorts of political activities that can be apart from morality. (这段好!赞!条理清晰,例证严密,给我不少启发,呵呵)
On the other hand, the politics inevitably influences the morality more or less in the society. Let us reconsider legislation as the example, as we have known, just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law. What if we view this issue on the contrary? As the time go, overwhelming changes take place in our society, which calls for some new morality standards matching the times. How to make some new behaviors as the morality standards, accepted by all the people? The best method is to rule it as laws by government or some relevant international organization, and gradually melt it into morality standards.(这段相对与上面的段落就显得单薄了。道德影响政治,那么政治也反过来影响道德,这恰恰是切题的两个方面。对于政治影响道德显然说的不够。具体来一个例子是不是好些呢?)
As it stands, the politics and morality, which both play essential part in the modern society, indeed, are interlocked just as the circles of a chain. Morality penetrates politics a lot, and the politics stir morality at the same time. Only view them with a whole perspective can understand them insightfully.
觉得文章脉络比较清晰,句式也注意了变化,总体来说不错。但是B2的展开相对与B1的严密和完整就欠缺多了,再完善一下B2就更好了。个人意见,仅供参考,欢迎讨论,欢迎回拍。 |
