Education has attracted more and more social attention nowadays, and the way of study is a popular and controversial topic in contemporary society. Since people put more emphasis on the ability of study rather than the knowledge learned by students in current education reformation, I advocate the speaker's assertion to a large extent that students should keep the spirit of skepticism in study instead of accepting knowledge passively.

To begin with, it is the undeniable truth that formal education mainly teaches students the existed knowledge instead of the ability of independent thinking and learning. Teachers always talk and read in class and demand students fully accept what they said. What students should do is not to think but to remember. Such training give students the wrong conception that what printed in books must be the truth. In this way the incorrect theory cannot immediately be rectified, which is harmful to the progress of academy even society. This education form also lead students to blindly follow authority and lack the spirit of creativity and independent thinking, which is harmful for the development of individuals even the whole society.

Moreover, skepticism is necessary and significant for people to achieve breakthrough and success. Keep skepticism in learning can promote creativity and the ability of independent thinking, which is beneficial to acquire the truth of knowledge. Many scientists just depend on the spirit of query about the former theory to discover and establish new theories. The best example is Copernicusand his Heliocentric Theory. As the common sense and the authoritative theory at that time, earth is undoubted the center of the universe. If Copernicus did not have the skepticism and the spirit of independent thinking, he would certainly believe what the authority said and would not discover the truth of the universe. Moreover, Skepticism speed up the revolution of theories even society, and it also represent the essence of a democratic society which does not blindly adore authority

Although skepticism in study benefits us a lot, it does not mean we encourage blindly skepticism and unreasonable challenge of authority. Such behavior is meaningless and inefficient. Be suspicious of universal truth which is well illustrated by forerunners is a waste of time. The blindly disbelieve of authority may also undermine the stability and prosperity of our society. Students should differentiate which should be accepted and which should be doubted. It is the necessary premise of skepticism in student.

To sum up, the spirit of skepticism is just the essence of learning which should be encouraged to training. It can promote student's independent will and creativity in study, and help them to make new discovers and achievements in academic field.  But we should not ignore the negative influence of unreasonable skepticism. Such behavior will lead to low efficiency and instability of individuals, as well as society.
